The Inpatient Care Coordinator performs a wide variety of duties associated with patient services. This position is responsible for all components of the patient experience ranging from patient in-take, office visit, patient close-out, and appointment scheduling. The position also oversees the reporting function for the clinic including compliance specific reports as well as corporate statistics. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM Location: 7 Technology Drive, Irvine, CA. This position is a hybrid opportunity. Primary Responsibilities:
- Applies knowledge and skills to a range of moderately complex activities
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise and skills in own function and processing of authorizations and- tasks
- Acts as a technical resource for others to process work
- Proactively identifies solutions to non-standard questions and requests
- Solves moderately complex problems independently
- Works with team to solve complex problems
- Helps to coordinate work of other coordinators to meet turnaround times
- Actively works to provide solutions that will improve departmental communication resources and workflows
- Acts as resource and liaison for Clinical Services Department staff, inter- departmental staff, health plans and provider offices
- Generates, maintains and processes system reports as required
- Supports team functions including but not limited to maintaining assignments, quality assurance of authorization preparation for nurses and support of the retro claims review process
- Assists in orienting new staff, provides training and coaching of staff when training needs are identified
- Promotes teamwork and collaboration within the department
- Maintains accuracy of the coordinator process tool
- Utilizes on line systems to access required information for the team
- Acts as initial contact and resource related to outreach, screening and education of providers for authorization processing
- Communicates with members, family or caregiver when appropriate on escalated issues
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Processes work as assigned within established timeframes and productivity goals using department resources and procedures with minimal oversight
- Enters referral requests into on-line system and reviews and approves requests per coordinator process tool
- Verifies eligibility and benefits
- Manages and triages calls for the team utilizing standard protocols
- Communicates with members, family or caregiver for expedited initial organization determination (EIOD) calls
- Follows standardized documentation protocols when reviewing referral requests
- Maintains confidentiality of all member information and Monarch business
- Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet turnaround time and deadlines
- Maintains a professional demeanor at all times and models company core values of integrity, compassion, relationships, innovation and performance
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
