The Department / Team
- The position is part of the Moody’s Analytics Strategic Account Management group.
The Role / Responsibilities:
- Line management of Sales Professionals in the Americas and European Regions.
- Design, implement and execute a strategic business development plan for a defined territory of strategic customers.
- Implement best practices in sales techniques to achieve annual sales target for your team
- Establish customer outreach strategy; setting and ensuring that the team is meeting annual targets for face-to-face meetings and sales goals.
- Effectively run meetings with customers and sales executives on short notice or with little preparation.
- Maintain active relationships with customers and intermediaries at all levels.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- High energy focused on achieving business objectives, strong leadership and management skills.
- Lead review of team forecast including tracking of pipeline, renewals.
- Expected to spend up to 30% of the time on the road meeting customers when conditions allow.
- Identify business opportunities for new product and feature development through market and client exposure.
- Designate pilot customers for new products that are being developed and ensure customer involvement in the product development.
- Partner with marketing, events, and product strategy teams to drive events and sales campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in finance, economics or related area required; graduate/second-level degree (e.g. Master's/MBA) degree preferred.
- 10+ years experience in a sales role within in a software/data/services organization with a successful track record in sales, preferably selling solutions to the global marketplace.
- Experience in managing multiple sales professionals a plus.
- Selling solutions to Insurance / Re-Insurance segment
- Ability to sell on a needs/solutions approach and influence key decision makers.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills as well as outstanding client relationship management experience.
- Speak and communicate convincingly in front of senior management, customers and larger audiences.
- Ability to easily switch between Account Management and Business Development roles and to develop others to do so.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues and develop solutions.
- Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines.
- Ability to think holistically about a market in the broader context of their own and other territories and able to formulate a strategic and tactical plan. This includes a detailed SWOT analysis for the defined territory and concrete strategy to create and execute sales opportunities.
- Position requires travel (approximately 25-40%), COVID permitting.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$190,000]] to [[$275,000]] , depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
