Minimum qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 1.5 years of experience in a leadership role such as technical leadership or people management, supervision, or team leadership.
- 1 year of experience building tools that improve development velocity, code quality, or code health.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of programming experience in Java or C++.
- Experience in counter-abuse, security, or spam-fighting.
- Experience with hiring and growing a team while following values in diversity, inclusion, and respect.
- Collaborative working style with ability to manage projects with cross-functional teams and align with stakeholders around common goals.
- Hire a team of software engineers and engineering analysts to solve some of Google Photos’ and Google One’s most critical counter-abuse challenges. Coach and manage a highly technical and growing organization.
- Foster a collaborative partnership with fellow engineers and leaders in Mountain View, Los Angeles, Sydney, Bangalore, as well as with other teams across Google Photos and Google One.
- Ensure that Google Photos develops technical strategies that allow the product to protect users and the business from illegal content, social engineering, and costly abuse.
- Ensure development of technical strategies that allow the product to protect the business from fraud and costly abuse.
- Ensure ongoing user trust by driving horizontal Trust and Safety efforts across Google Photos and Google One. Partner with central counter-abuse teams to deliver trust at scale and shape best practices across Google.
