Avaaz is looking for an experienced Senior Talent Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring we attract, develop, and retain top talent to meet our organizational goals. Supported by our Head of People, Natasha, you’ll be working alongside our remote but collaborative team to spearhead our Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding and Onboarding Activities. This role will be placed within the People & Culture team, and will join at the start of an exciting transition which will see the team align People & Talent practices with our organizational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Design the framework, systems and processes that define our recruitment and hiring experience.
- Breathe life into our values, weaving them seamlessly into every aspect of our recruitment process.
- Collaborate with Line Managers to help them develop their new colleagues for success and exceptional performance.
- Champion our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives at a strategic level to drive change throughout our hiring process.
- Leverage data to drive meaningful change throughout our processes and uncover trends and patterns which drive innovation.
- Advise Line Managers, helping them to optimize team members' performance.
- Offer expert coaching and mentorship to foster talent development and team growth.
- Spearhead the evolution of external messaging and branding to ensure that we constantly attract exceptional people to our organization.
Experience & Qualifications
Key qualifications and experience we are looking for in this role include:
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing recruitment and onboarding strategies in large organizations.
- Essential to have worked in a culturally diverse and global organization, preferably within campaigning and human rights, or in the NGO sector, demonstrating strategic influence.
- Proven ability to guide and collaborate with stakeholders at a senior level, providing strategic insights and challenging the status quo where necessary.
- Can harness analytical skills and has experience utilizing data and insights to drive continuous improvement and impact.
- Proven exceptional leadership qualities, including effective coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, thriving in a collaborative environment while also capable of independent initiative.
- Proven project management and briefing skills with an ability to confidently and clearly communicate on complex tasks with all levels of the organization, and with external partners, agencies and recruiters.
- Commitment to global justice, citizen empowerment, and social change.
- Advanced proficiency in English is required. Additional languages are welcome.
Location
Avaaz is a virtual organization, with almost all of our work done online. Our staff are based all over the world. For this position, the candidate would ideally be based in the Americas or Europe/Africa/Middle East time zones.
Start Date
As soon as possible but with flexibility to accommodate the right candidate.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary varies with location and experience, and is highly competitive with leading international nongovernmental organisations.The full-package salary for this position ranges from 62,000 - 90,000 Euro. An accurate range in local currency will be provided to candidates.
