As a Senior Staff UX Designer, you will be expected to exemplify superior UX principles, developing accessible, engaging, and user-friendly experiences for Visa's digital product line.
Your role will involve working across different time zones, collaborating with multiple departments including product, engineering, marketing, and analytics. You will interact closely with both internal and external users to gain feedback and test your designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business teams to enhance their vision through the application of sound UX principles.
- Own and make informed design decisions based on a comprehensive understanding of modern user-centered design methodologies.
- Exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate closely with Research, Product Management and Engineering partners to iterate and drive programs forward.
- Develop user centric design solutions based on research, member insights, and industry best practices.
- Ability to partner with User Research to conduct interactive usability studies
- Liaise with engineers to ensure the technical feasibility of your designs.
- Advocate for human-centered and user experience design.
- Capture requirements and create workflows, wireframes, prototypes, and final designs.
- Develop research plans, conduct user research, and lead usability sessions.
- Define success metrics as part of the comprehensive UX process.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Present and inform on design decisions to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Skills:
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
- Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite or InVision and other common design tools (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Sketch etc.).
- Expertise in front end design - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Expertise in mobile and web UX best practices across iOS, Android, and responsive web
- Proficiency in designing high-fidelity mockups and prototypes using industry tools such as Figma, Sketch, etc.
- Experience in designing generative conversational UIs.
- Familiarity with Generative AI UI/UX Patterns.
- Experience in designing mobile products.
- Subject Matter Expertise in interaction design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate concepts and recommendations effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
- An online or PDF portfolio demonstrating exceptional product and ecosystem thinking.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or more than 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) in Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Experience designing Human Capital Management (HCM) experiences is preferred.
- Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile environment is preferred.
- Experience conducting usability tests, including with users with disabilities, is preferred.
- Experience ensuring designs are compliant with WCAG is preferred.
- Subject Matter Expertise in Accessibility (508/WCAG) is preferred.
- Group facilitation and teaching (design thinking) skills are preferred
