Remote location: Ukraine. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working in Ukraine in Technology Industry, non-profit sector, a policy role, or government.
- Ability to communicate in Ukrainian and English fluently to interact with local partners, and stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with or in government, NGOs, regulatory agencies, or corporate public policy teams.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, variety of stakeholders across multiple countries, and executing strategies to deliver solutions.
- Experience analyzing, studying, providing insights, or advocating for digital-related policies, both at national and international levels.
- Ability to illustrate topics including intermediary liability, data privacy and governance, AI, digital/audiovisual content, or digital market competition and regulation, with knowledge of Internet technologies and the policy environments that surround them.
- Ability to identify/gather insights and communicate complex technology policy issues.
As a Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager, you'll shape Google's policy efforts in Ukraine, related to regulatory topics and public affairs projects. You will coordinate with the global Government Affairs and Public Policy team, the business and product organizations, and key cross-functional partners to execute our policy strategy, and lead outreach to key stakeholders. You'll develop, organize, manage, and communicate critical plans, initiatives, and strategy, while tracking various regulatory proposals and analyzing their potential impact on Google’s business.
Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.
- Develop and lead public policy campaigns across the full range of policy areas that impact Google and the web.
- Represent Google's interests by engaging directly with policymakers, industry players, think tanks, and key opinion formers.
- Work closely with Legal, Communications, Marketing, and other teams across Google both locally and internationally to execute outreach programs on policy priorities.
- Build and drive a network of trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other stakeholders to support policies that will help create/maintain a user-focused online environment and an open Internet.
- Advise internal teams on the public policy implications of their products, collaborating effectively with a cross-functional global team.
