Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Missions Systems is seeking experienced Digital engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Networked Information Solutions (NIS) and Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) cross-sector hardware organization. Responsibilities may include development of antenna architectures, receiver / exciter architectures, requirements generation/flow down; subsystem analysis including hardware from Radio Frequency (RF) to digits, performance modeling, support for performance testing, requirements verification, and more. The qualified candidate will work with a diverse and talented team of engineers developing innovative and cost-effective systems that support a broad range of products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program. The position requires leading a team of RF engineers and Digital engineers to integrate low-maturity complex hardware from initial bench and range integration at the DREX and Antenna levels to establishing repeatable test process for low-rate delivery. A detailed understanding of both RF and Digital engineering is a plus!This position will support our NIS and PGS Business Units, located in Baltimore, MD.Program responsibilities for a fully digital antenna subsystem include:
- Oversight, leadership and hands-on involvement with Near Field Range (NFR) integration for a Digital Antenna
- Oversight, leadership and hands-on involvement for Antenna Performance integrating antenna HW, SW and FW in support of complex integration events
- Troubleshooting knowledge/experience for DREX conversion level and Antenna Performance levels
- Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs)
- Highly integrated subsystems including antenna hardware
- Reflectors, Reflect Arrays, Digital Beam Forming
- Antenna/RF Performance Analysis
- Computational Electromagnetics, Statistics
- Antenna or Subsystem Control Design
- Antenna Measurements and Data Reduction
- Antenna range integration, test, and system integration
- Knowledge of Near-Field Range integration and set up
- Subsystem requirements (hardware and software) derivation, flow-down, and configuration
- Familiarity working with embedded real time software and digital systems
- Familiarity with firmware development tool suites including Quartus and Vivado
- Comfortable creating test support applications and tools using MATLAB, python, etc
- Experience with agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
- Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, Git
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S Citizenship is required
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required to start.
- Hands on experience with hardware in a lab environment
- Basic knowledge of Software, Hardware, and Digital designs
- Knowledge of Subsystem level Integration and Set Up
- Active Secret security clearance to start per business requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 9 years of experience, a Master's degree with 7 years of experience or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Senior Principal Engineers should have a demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing engineers with experience at least at the Principal level.
- U.S Citizenship is required
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required to start.
- Hands on experience with hardware in a lab environment
- Basic knowledge of Software, Hardware, and Digital designs
- Knowledge of Subsystem level Integration and Set Up
- Active Secret security clearance to start per business requirements
- Advanced degree in in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields.
- U.S Citizenship is required
- An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start.
- Active Top Secret or Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
- Working knowledge of digital control architectures
- Experience in Range test time reduction
- Experience using MATLAB
- Experience troubleshooting RF subsystems
