This position is for a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at our Cedar Rapids Mission Systems manufacturing location. The position will support manufacturing test and other manufacturing aspects. You will be tasked with evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing test problems related to design, process, and supplier issues. This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.

- Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for complex RF product
- Recommend solid engineering solutions for design tolerance problems and coordinates implementation with Program Office and Design Engineering
- Evaluate and approves test plans and test equipment designs. Selects and orders capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis
- Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will reduce staffing and capital requirements
- Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields. Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve test failures
- Extensive use and application of standard engineering and manufacturing principles and processes
- Develop solutions to difficult technical problems of broad scope with little to no guidance from project managers
- Develop, implement, and maintain test methods and processes in the manufacture and test of complex RF circuit card and sub-assembly designs
- Provide in-depth technical assistance and training support to floor test technicians
- Maintain test documentation in current configuration and oversees accurate change management procedures for all test documents. Resolves conflicts in documentation and process definition
- Develops complete knowledge of test systems and hardware
- Recommend and/or lead producibility projects to reduce support costs
- Analyze test data using statistical process control analysis skills to proactively reduce test flow inhibitors
- Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction opportunities
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
- Test technician experience.
