    Overview:

    We are seeking an expert and highly motivated Indirect Procurement - Commodity Manager supporting Indirect Services to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and driving Category/procurement strategies for Indirect services in support of a worldwide life sciences manufacturer.

    This position is responsible for maintaining the relationship of internal partners as well as the suppliers in the category; as part of the sourcing team, this person will develop, socialize, and implement commodity strategies, lead supplier selection activities, and negotiate and implement purchase contracts to the assigned commodities and supervise compliance and globalize processes. The Commodity manager will also work closely with site technical subject matter authorities to introduce new Waters products with the highest levels of quality at the lowest landed cost while ensuring adequate capacity, timely delivery, and dedication to continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities:
    • Build, Socialize, and Implement Category strategies, developing the supply base to improve supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery), and ensuring appropriate capacity levels to support business-unit demand.
    • Lead programs and initiatives that are driving the strategy in alignment with internal stakeholders and organizations objectives  
    • Work closely with the site team of Buyers on compliance to harmonized systems, tools, and supply chain processes and standard methodologies.
    • Run supplier relationships and opportunities for cost-out and product/supplier improvement while ensuring production, delivery, and capacity requirements for all commodities.
    • Work closely with the supplier base to find opportunities that benefit Waters.
    • Negotiate with external suppliers and internal team members; conduct problem resolution and settle disputes; develop win/win solutions; and promote positive relations.
    • Evaluate social, economic, and governmental information to resolve risks and opportunities regarding global sourcing (e.g., tariffs, dumping duties, exchange rates, etc.).
    • Develop productive collaborations in the Supply Chain Management organization via mentoring, instructing, and training.
    • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a closely related field from an accredited institution
    • Strong Negotiating skills
    • Supply chain experience preferred
    • Contract knowledge
    • Proven understanding of key financial metrics
    • Knowledge of and/or experience with manufacturing in a regulated environment
    • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Minimum of five years of experience in a high-tech / fast-paced manufacturing-based business                                                                                                                  #LI-Hybrid
