Overview Serve as a consultant and implement enterprise IT/GIS strategies for our customers’ platform architectures, and prove-out innovative implementations of ArcGIS technologies with enterprise IT. You’ll also have the chance to investigate and resolve complex technical challenges at the interface of ArcGIS and enterprise IT technologies. You will deploy and optimize advanced and complicated ArcGIS deployments in complex environments for Professional Services customers. Partner directly with customers to consult on advanced ArcGIS Enterprise deployment architecture and integration topics. In addition, you will participate in and be a leader within the Esri community and share insight into concepts such as networking, computing, security, and more. ArcGIS provides contextual tools for mapping and spatial reasoning so users can explore data and share location-based insights. ArcGIS creates deeper understanding, allowing users to quickly see where things are happening and how information is connected.   • Carry-out “advanced” engagement types including:
    • Enterprise Migration
    • Disaster Recovery Protection
    • Back-up Protection
    • System Challenge
    • System Proof of Concept
    • Advanced ArcGIS Enterprise Upgrades/Deployments
    • ArcGIS Enterprise Security Findings Discussion Support
  • Employ knowledge of enterprise IT technologies and concepts such as:
    • Proxies (forward, reverse, load balancers, IAPs, API Gateways, and more)
    • Storage systems (file shares, SANs, NASs, object stores, and more)
    • Enterprise security (WAFs, security scans, enterprise identity providers, directory services, and more)
    • Networking (TLS/SSL certificates, firewalls, routing, and more)
  • Lead customers and colleagues with clear methodologies that provide shared understandings and repeatable, successful outcomes at the intersection of Esri and enterprise information technologies
    • Recommend and work to implement relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions for customer technical challenges
    • Collaborate with Professional Services staff to solve difficult technical challenges and to help less experienced colleagues build their capabilities
Requirements
  • 8+ years of professional experience in implementing and supporting GIS solutions
  • Deploy/upgrade ArcGIS Enterprise systems
  • Experience in system administration with Windows and/or Linux
  • Excellence in troubleshooting technical issues with server systems
  • Excellence in creating clear methodologies that provide shared understandings and repeatability
  • Apply familiarity with network concepts and topics such as domains, directories, DNS, HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, load-balancing, and more
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to customers, executives, other technical staff or non-technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and translate a customer`s business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical plans and solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related STEM field
Recommended Qualifications
  • Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related STEM field
  • Administer relational database management systems, such as SQL Server, Oracle, and/or PostgreSQL
  • Experience in leading and empowering team activities and managing/balancing implementation risks
  • Knowledge of/interest in enterprise technology implementation patterns such as external network access to internal network resources, enterprise identity/authentication/authorization, services-oriented systems, containers, cloud computing, and more
  • Knowledge of/interest in networking concepts and topics such as HTTP, TCP, TLS, firewalls, DNS, forward proxies
  • Knowledge of/interest in contemporary web application technology patterns such as web browser capabilities, developer tools, client application patterns, JavaScript, cookies, and more
  • Knowledge of/experience with scripting and/or programming languages of some type (shell, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, SQL, and more)

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
