For more information, visit https://www.stryker.com/ Title of Job: Staff Engineer Role Location: Bangalore, India Position Description:  Vocera (Now part of Stryker) is seeking a passionate and innovative Staff Engineer in the Mobile Clients team.  As a member of the Mobile Clients team, you will be focused on Testing and Automation of the feature implementation. You are responsible for writing manual and automation test cases and executing those. This position reports to the Manager – R&D. Responsibilities:
  • As a Staff Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for developing, and maintaining manual and automation test cases, and automation frameworks with Appium / Java.
  • Contribute to new implementations in Automation and any modification required to the existing Automation Framework.
  • Develop, and contribute to manual and automation test scripts and frameworks for improved mobile app performance.
  • Providing feedback to development teams on technical, troubleshooting, or operational issues.
  • Analyze test results, effectively debug and troubleshoot identified issues, and document defects clearly.
  • Interact closely with the Scrum Lane team to identify the automation scope and update them about the automation progress.
  • Follow software engineering best practices utilizing the Agile development methodology.
  • Collaborate across a dynamic geographically dispersed team.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent
  • 6+ years of strong experience in both manual and automated testing of mobile application testing including both iOS and Android.
  • Experience in developing automated test scripts for iOS and Android.
  • Experience with popular mobile testing frameworks and debugging tools (e.g., Appium, Android Studio, Xcode, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Java (preferable), Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience working on scalable, distributed systems.
  • Good understanding of the BDD framework.
  • Shown coding discipline – experience with Git, Jira (or similar) with change commit/merge workflows, and Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
