As American Express continues along an impressive growth trajectory, the company is preparing to ascend the ranks of the Federal Reserve’s bank categorization. With the anticipated category changes will come heightened requirements in the liquidity, capital, and regulatory reporting domains. To prepare, American Express is working to uplift and address new requirements and capabilities to meet our needs. A Program Management Office (PMO) has been established to oversee this multi-year transformation initiative that is critical to American Express’ continued success. The PMO will coordinate across Finance and other enterprise partners to lead the Company’s migration initiatives and successful transition into the larger bank categories. As a member of the PMO, the Manager will be responsible for budget and forecasting analysis to support the project, including investment tracking. They will be working across teams and BUs to promote close coordination of deliverables, drive consistent communication, and manage questions from key stakeholders to ensure timely responses. They will work closely with a Director and VP to prepare executive-level materials, coordinate project-related learning & development, and support the PMO’s communication strategy, which comes with significant exposure to executive leadership. Responsibilities: ·     Manage the investment process, tracking and analyzing associated spend, and hiring progress – working closely with LFO teams, Opex Leads, and DAs/Chiefs of Staff. This includes representing the PMO with senior leaders to review investment needs. Opportunity to partner with our Senior Analyst to enhance analytics ·     Relatedly, be the primary point of contact with senior leaders to review investments and provide thought leadership on risks and opportunities to redeploy resources, where appropriate ·     Work closely with Global Finance Learning & Development to support the rollout of timely and targeted L&D, trainings, and other communications related to the project ·     Develop internal and external materials for executive leadership – including EC members and the AXP Board of Directors – as well as for regulator meetings, providing strategic input with material development and addressing feedback, as needed ·     Coordinate with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure consistent and clear messaging, inclusive of ad hoc requests, as appropriate ·     Consistent application of governance standards across a broad set of stakeholders ·     Manage / own the shared materials related to the project   Qualifications: ·     Instinctive attention to detail with the ability to keep the big picture in perspective, both proactive and adaptable ·     Strong track record of positively collaborating and coordinating with internal and external partners to resolve challenges in a demanding environment ·     Proven ability to manage multiple demands successfully within a matrixed organization ·     Strong excel skills required, inclusive of pivot tables and formulas ·     4+ years of professional experience ·     Regulatory experience – either in material preparation and / or direct engagement – is helpful ·     Consulting/project management in the Financial Services Industry is helpful ·     BS in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
