    Position Overview

    Autodesk is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Executive Communications to support our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and members of the COO executive leadership team. You will create communications programs that amplify their vision, strategy, and goals across internal and external channels. We are looking for a strategic communications professional who understands communications from strategic planning to messaging to execution.

    You will report to the Senior Director, COO and Customer Communications. You have demonstrated experience supporting C-level executives as a seasoned writer, have developed social media and thought leadership content, and you are comfortable delivering against quick timelines. You bring creative thinking, communications expertise, curiosity, creativity, and enthusiastic energy to the Communications team.     You will work remotely in the US. This role may require occasional travel (10-15%)

    Responsibilities

    • Executive Communications Strategy: Develop comprehensive executive communications strategy for Autodesk's Chief Operating Officer, in collaboration with other teams including public relations, crisis comms, social media, and employee communications

    • Leadership Support: Work directly with Autodesk's Chief Operating Officer, their chief of staff and main subject matter experts to develop thought leadership narratives and materials, including presentations, messaging, and customer examples

    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Autodesk teams (Marketing, HR, Finance, and others) to build messaging and surface compelling narratives for internal and external comms

    • Social Media Strategy & Execution: Create and execute a social media strategy for Autodesk's COO by drafting social media posts; suggesting shares and existing content related to Autodesk's business; and propose new ways to engage on LinkedIn, and other platforms. Work with COO marketing team to align with executive-level campaigns and activities

    • Employee Communications Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute an internal communications strategy to inform and engage COO-focused employees on the business, and lead COO-related content across Autodesk

    • External Thought Leadership Strategy & Execution: Build and maintain external speaking calendar, researching relevant third-party events, pitching Autodesk COO for speaking opportunities, and developing content for engagements. Develop long-form content and articles on behalf of Autodesk's COO for publication on Autodesk properties and third-party sites. Collaborate with COO marketing on strategy to ensure messaging is aligned with Autodesk's narrative

    • COO Team Participation: Embed in the organization and participate in meetings as requested with the COO leadership team, providing a point of view on communications, and debating that POV with leadership

    • Communications Team Collaboration & Project Support: Work across the corporate communications team and with partners across the company on communications projects in the best interests of the company and its employees; Pitch in to help out the Senior Director, COO and Customer Communications on high-priority executive communications or internal communications projects, regardless of executive being supported

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 10+ years of communications experience at major corporations

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field; Master’s degree a bonus 

    • You have experience in Executive communications, within the global software or technology industries

    • You have experience supporting a C-level / senior executive

    • You have experience as a writer and communicator

    • Understanding of industry trends and new technologies

    • You have experience achieving business strategies and solving roadblocks

    • Strong executive presence and cross-functional collaboration skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

    Salary transparency

    Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $137,000 and $221,650. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
