Your Role

As Controller for the Private Markets Credit team, you will be responsible for the oversight of the administration of private credit investment portfolios, fund financial reporting, management of the fund treasury process, coordination of annual audits, and coordination and review of investor and fund level tax filing requirements for private credit funds.

The Invesco Private Market Accounting team also supports the Invesco, Ltd. (“Invesco”) corporate accounting team with respect to the consolidation of the Invesco CLO Equity Funds and the Invesco-sponsored CLOs that the Funds invest in.  The support includes pro forma financial statements and data for the CLOs, as well as calculations and support for related disclosures in the Invesco, Ltd. SEC filings.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supervising accountants performing accounting and reporting on private credit, distressed debt, CLOs and private equity fund investments, including set up and accounting for co-investments and multi-tier commingled funds.

  • Investment oversight, primarily US based, but may include certain international portfolios/investments.

  • Oversight of daily operations of the CLO Equity Funds and other assigned funds, such as capital calls, management of the lines of credit, distributions, information requests, and special projects.

  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio level financial statements and other client reporting.

  • Performing detailed review of all audit report drafts prior to submission to external auditors. Coordinating with direct reports and auditors to ensure completion of annual audits by required deadlines.

  • Overseeing consolidation of the CLOs and CLO Equity funds as well as the data analysis for disclosures related to the CLOs consolidated by Invesco Ltd.

  • Providing new ideas and processes in order to produce optimum operational efficiency and reduced costs.

  • Identifying and coordinating the transition of some department responsibilities to Invesco’s Hyderabad office. Holding direct reports accountable for continuing to identify tasks/efficiencies gained by work being performed by Hyderabad personnel.

  • Effectively managing and developing Assistant Controllers and Senior Accountants.

  • Communicating effectively with outside clients, upper management, peers and subordinates.

  • Staying apprised of issues affecting fund accounting including all GAAP technical matters and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Assisting with development and implementation of policies and procedures as appropriate.

  • Coordinating with outside tax preparers on preparation of necessary tax returns.

  • Working closely with the investment team to manage cash needs, including line of credit maintenance, reviewing trade reports and lender compliance.

  • Interacting well with custodians and other third-party administrators related to fund products.

  • Performing thorough review of performance returns, advisor incentive fees, and other investment metrics as requested by the portfolio team.

  • Developing and maintaining an excellent working relationship with the portfolio and investment management teams, as well as with other business disciplines.

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting/finance, CPA certification is strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of ten years of related accounting experience, and at least five years of experience with private credit investments or CLOs

  • Big 4/public accounting background preferred, Manager level or higher.

  • Big 4 and credit industry combination profiles will be strongly considered.

  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively. manage a staff of highly qualified accountants.\

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with Allvue software a plus.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge is desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Self-motivated, organized and flexible

  • Team oriented and strong interpersonal skills very important.

  • A demonstrated reputation for excellence and achievement.
