Technical Marketing Engineer Service Provider

Juniper is seeking a passionate and highly motivated individual to drive and own technical marketing activities with an emphasis on the Service Provider—5G xHaul, Metro Ethernet, Telco markets and become a main contributor for Juniper Networks Cloud Metro solutions. This individual will be part of Juniper’s TME and PLM organization and be a strategic partner to Juniper’s go-to-market teams and R&D engineering teams to define, advocate for and drive the evolution of the product portfolio and target customer adoption.

This role will be a key individual contributor that requires leadership across cross-functional teams including engineering, QA and test organization, marketing, sales and systems engineering to execute against Juniper’s growth strategy.

Responsibilities:

The candidate must be execution oriented, have a builder mentality, strong technical acumen. The ideal candidate will have both a technical and business/sales background, have demonstrated experience in complex infrastructure, hardware, software, and service environments, as well as familiarity with the global telecommunications and cloud infrastructure market landscape and industry structure. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Be technical advisor and go-to subject matter expert for platforms and/or solutions and help product team to drive Cloud Metro platforms strategy, product definition and program execution.
  • Develop a coherent solution story focused on 4G/5G xHaul, Metro Ethernet, Cable DAA architecture and broadband use cases of the SP markets.
  • Communicate value proposition, architectures and technology implementation details to customers and internal sales organization by developing technical collaterals, delivering life webinars and demos.
  • Produce Competitive Analysis collaterals that highlight Juniper Networks strengths and areas of improvements and keep them up to date.
  • Evangelize Juniper’s ways and vision for network transformation in 5G era via participating in external events (conferences/forums) and contributing to industry standards working groups.
  • Design and implement compelling Proof of Concept lab setups and demos for SP solutions, document results. Maintain relevant demos for being available and reproducible by the sales engineers.
  • Participate in RFP/RFI responses and defenses, contribute to boilerplates for responses
  • Proactively identify gaps in product and solution roadmap via continuous validation against customer specific use case implementations.
  • Work closely with the various sales teams to manage requirements and drive commitments within engineering organizations
  • Generate sales and product collaterals
  • Work in close partnership with sales and marketing to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and plans to bring solutions to market
  • Build and expand relationships with service provider and cloud customers

Minimum Qualifications: 

This role requires the skills to build and drive deep-dive technical solution blueprints and network architectures and be subject matter expert in dedicated areas of the SP networking technologies. This person thinks strategically, crosses technical and marketing domains fluidly, distills complex concepts to practical network implementation scenarios. 

Qualifications include:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or Related Engineering field
  • At least 10 years of experience in Service Provider market, routing and switching
  • 3 or more years of experience in large network infrastructure organizations in Technical Marketing, Consulting Engineering for Service and/or Cloud providers networking.
  • Exposure to at least one major use case in the Service Providers market – Metro Ethernet, Mobile Backhaul, SP WAN Core and Edge, Broadband use cases and solutions. Ability to articulate 
  • Excellent knowledge of routing and switching protocols and service provider network architectures—including but not limited to IP/MPLS, SR, L3VPN, VPLS, EVPN, OAM etc.
  • Knowledge of the hardware and software architecture of the carrier class routing and switching systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one of the major vendors products – Juniper, Cisco, Nokia, Arista. Experience with JUNOS is a plus.
  • Proven track of record of developing network solution for complex service providers networks.
  • Ability to make a thorough technical analysis of competitor products and solutions
  • Ability to articulate on value proposition of a product or solution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across different audience levels 
  • Curious about the technical details

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in engineering and/or an MBA
  • CCIE or JNCIE certification level is plus
