Position Description:  Stryker is looking for a hardworking Associate Manager with strong software engineering in web/mobile domain and excellent people management skills. You will have the ability to provide a mentor and lead a team and have a passion for technology ensuring the delivery of high-quality enterprise-class products. In this position, you will manage a software development & test teams and the scalability, longevity, and durability of relevant product releases.

What you will do:
Technical / Managerial Responsibilities

  • Experience with managing the development, testing, and  deployment of web & mobile applications and solutions
  • Drives functional excellence initiatives, delivers high quality R&D functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for product or technology development.  Drives technical projects of major magnitude and scope 
  • Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches. 
  • Lead the Agile development process, including planning, code reviews, code hygiene, and alignment with important product releases
  • Collaborate with the NA teams, Technical Support, Escalations team, and DevOps to anticipate and mitigate project issues as well as troubleshoot issues encountered by customers
  • Provides guidance and training to staff, assists subordinates in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high-quality staff. 
  • Develops and monitors department budgets, determines appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources. 
  • Co-ordinates sessions with project managers/core team leaders to look for opportunities for staff to learn about new initiatives or volunteer on new projects. 
  • Drives the development of department tools and methodologies. 
  • Determines project staff assignments and schedules work to meet completion dates and R&D deliverables. Establishes cross-functional team relationships.

Business Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial accountability across direct team. Participate in cost center budget creation, projections, and tracking activities.
  • Contribute and execute customer facing activities like Voice of Customer and customer centric design in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Expertise:

  • Good knowledge on front end web UI development using Angular.
  • Good experience with the most up-to-date Swift version, and can mix it with Objective-C
  • Must possess knowledge of App Security and Cryptography
  • Must have worked with Agile Methodologies
  • Implementation of understanding of multi-threading, asynchronous concepts
  • Knowledge about Azure cloud platforms preferred. 
  • Good communication skills

Leadership Experience:

  • Talented performance coach who is skilled at providing actionable feedback to team members, setting clear performance objectives and managing team member performance.
  • General knowledge of the healthcare market and competitors.
  • Experience executing a talent and performance management strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate plans and technical information to team members within a business unit.
  • Proven ability to deliver programs or other business goals on time, on quality and within budget

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
  • 12+ years applicable experience, with 4+ years direct people management experience preferred.
  • Good level of understanding of experience in, and ability to mentor in one's own technical / functional disciplines.
