About The Role

The Senior Manager of Product Development for Supplier Experience will be responsible for owning and growing the strategy and backlog for the way that American Express leverages existing products and tech capabilities to create value for B2B Payment recipients (Suppliers), and uncover opportunities for new automation and capabilities amongst existing processes.

This role will serve as a steward of the voice of the customer in planning the product roadmap, defining requirements and planning out phased delivery milestones, in partnership with teams across Technology, User Experience Design / Research, Merchant Services, Risk and Compliance

Key Responsibilities
    • Understand product lifecycles and identify key areas of opportunity to:
    • Inject value for Suppliers within new and existing product designs
    • Drive consistent and digital self-serve touchpoints
    • Collaborate with Product Management to understand strategic vision for product growth, identify objectives and key results, and define critical metrics to measure success
    • Analyze the end-to-end customer journey to identify gaps in available services and data availability, and recognize similarities in experiences across product lines
    • Identify and define requirements and capabilities
    • Partner with PO's or act in a PO capacity with a scrum team, when necessary, to drive tech delivery
    • Project management – define who is responsible for what as part of project planning, and establish governance to support the capabilities
    • Partner with Technologies to identify high level architecture and design for an optimal solution based on the business goals
    • Get into the details – Create thorough documentation, translate business requirements into technology delivery, and get creative
    • Recommend opportunities to build, bring in external partners or partner across internal teams to accelerate delivery of key business goals.
    • Create product development roadmaps and align with multiple partners on key milestones
    • Create and deliver executive level communications, updates, and reporting to key partners
    • Working with teams based in US, UK, India and Israel timezones
    Requirements & Qualifications
    • 5+ years experience working with digital products, with a track record of delivering results
    • A bias for action, gets stuff done
    • Business process background and technical proficiency; ability to balance and bridge technology and business needs
    • Great at project management and problem solving - having a plan B, C, D, etc when plan A goes sideways
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form to different audiences
    • Positive, flexible and proactive - Proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, support multiple workstreams at once, and manage through ambiguity and rapid change
    • Experience with project-based Business Consulting a plus
    • New product development, product management or product owner experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
