The Customer Engineer is an entry level/early career professional, dual customer/product focused position serves as the technical liaison between OEMs and represents our customers during new product development programs. Applying Cummins’ products to customer vehicles requires the development of technical specifications, implementing new design configurations, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ products in a variety of applications. Integrating high quality and optimized customer solutions requires the interaction with sales and marketing teams.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
PROBLEM RESOLUTION : Investigate integration and installation issues, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate actions, and document results. Collaborate with experienced team members to resolve problems effectively.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT : Support processes like Installation Quality Assurance, OEM integration, and product selection. Leverage tools such as Advisor, Cummins OnLine Specifications (COLS), and Global Customer Engineering (GCE) to enhance decision-making quality.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT : Obtain input from Subject Matter Experts and Value Package Introduction (VPI) Teams. Deliver product data and installation requirements to Application Engineers and OEMs, ensuring effective communication and alignment.
STRATEGIC DECISION-MAKING : Make critical decisions related to product selection, design, and integration. Your choices impact OEM machine performance, optimization, and overall quality.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT : Develop strong working relationships with customer technical counterparts. Serve as their primary liaison, delivering product technical information, managing specifications, and addressing installation issues.
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE AND ADVOCACY : Apply deep product, application, and market knowledge. Translate customer needs into functional product requirements and advocate for customer/market interests during new product development and design processes.
QUALITY ASSURANCE : Ensure correct product application and installation to meet customer system requirements. Validate prototype machine performance and uphold Cummins’ quality standards.
PROBLEM OWNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION : Own moderately complex problem resolution. Execute established work processes independently while contributing to team goals and influencing within your work group.
Qualifications
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
* Provide Power generation technical support to sales and distributors, develop and delivery technical training.
* Bachelor or Master degree on Electrical engineering or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills, customer oriented, very responsive.
* Entry level/Early career professional
* Knowledge of MS Office tools is also preferred
* Preferred candidates would have relevant experience working in either a temporary student employment environment (intern, co-op, or other extracurricular team activities) or as an early career professional in a relevant technical discipline area.
* Desired Portuguese and/or Spanish as second language
