As a Product Manager focused on developers, you'll work with ArcGIS Developer technology delivered by Esri. You will be on a team responsible for creating, building, and growing our developer community while driving the product vision and the technical roadmap. This role requires a highly driven, self-motivated individual who will work across Esri teams, with partners, international distributors, and a broad range of customers. You will champion the needs of the developer community and evangelize key ArcGIS capabilities for creating effective and immersive applications.
A successful candidate will have proven knowledge of ArcGIS Developer technology, customer workflows and a strong product management expertise. Your emphasis will be on evangelism, customer interaction, being the product expert, building team relationships, and influencing the product's development priorities.
Responsibilities- Gather feedback and provide perspective on behalf of the developer community to influence product direction, prioritize developer needs, and explore trends
- Evangelize the vision and ArcGIS Developer capabilities, strategy, and roadmap by working with a cross-team, cross-company, international community of developers
- Help developers understand how existing and new features in ArcGIS can help streamline collaboration and workflows in their development process
- Keep up to date on the latest advancements in developer technology and trends to ensure proper alignment of product strategy, and delivery of resources that enable effective and productive solution development
- Write technical papers and assist with generation of marketing materials and social media marketing including blogs
- Provide product expertise with key customers to understand their business needs and assist with mission critical projects
- Ensure internal launch readiness for product updates with sales, technical support, customer service, and training
- 5+ years of experience in product management, commercial application development, consulting, or product support
- Experience with real-world software development projects with the relevant software stack: web development with JavaScript, native app development (Android, iOS, .NET, Qt, and more), or back-end technologies (Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, and more)
- Ability to research customer problems and synthesize them into product requirements
- Capability to effectively document and verbally communicate market requirements to the engineering team
- Keen interest in customer experience and research to identify the right problems to solve with ArcGIS Developer technology
- Self-motivated, organized, and team-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at the technical level
- Bachelor's in computer science or a related field
- Experience with GIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analytics, or similar geospatial technology
- Experience with ArcGIS software
