Title: Associate Director, Senior Database Engineer

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007

Duties: Install and configure new databases based on best practices. Perform day to day database administration on existing databases, including implementing patches and upgrades as needed. Work with development team in optimizing SQLs. Participate as a member of the engineering teams for database-related tasks. Develop, test, and implement appropriate backup procedures. Design, test, and implement Oracle high availability solutions. Maintain effective database performance monitoring procedures. Perform database tuning for optimal performance to meet Business SLAs. Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security. Allocate storage and develop plans for future storage requirements. Maintain documentation of systems and standard operating policies and procedures. Resolve development and QA database requests. Provide technical assistance and mentor junior members of the team. Remain available for rotating on-call. Telecommuting permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.).

Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field plus at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or in a related position. Must have experience with the following: Applying knowledge of database architecture concepts and designing database for enterprise software; creating SQL scripts for data manipulation, conversion, data analysis and data patching; designing, writing ETL/data migration scripts and performing data migration across different databases and structures; designing and implementing functionality by writing advanced database SQL queries, tables, functions, procedures, triggers, views, types, objects; working in all aspects of the project life cycle including requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, deployment and testing; and implementing and executing SCRUM and AGILE development.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $89,586 to $202,650 depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
