Global Partner & Operational Support (GPOS) is a key organization within the Global Services Group (GSG).  Our team manages a complex, global network of third-party service partners who provide AXP with servicing flexibility and quality experiences for American Express card members and prospects. 

How will you make an impact in this role?

We are seeking a Senior Manager to oversee the sourcing strategy for new and on-going third parties managed by the Global Partner & Operational Support team. This role will also play a critical part in supporting key strategic projects within the GSG. 

  • Lead a team that develops optimal partner configurations, assesses the third-party external landscape, and benchmarks our global partner footprint.
  • Provide strategic direction to GPOS on opportunities for insourcing or reconfiguring the partner portfolio by conducting detailed cyclical analyses of the BPO industry.

  • Serve as an advisor and subject matter expert for global sourcing projects across the GPOS portfolio, including RFPs and contract renewals, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

  • Provide geographic intelligence across key markets, including Canada, the US, Germany, Mexico, the Philippines, and India.

  • Develop negotiation strategies for top partners with locations and programs in Canada and the US.

  • Act as the point of contact for GPOS and GSG leadership, offering coordination and strategic insights for negotiators.

  • Serve as the internal point of contact for key stakeholders regarding configuration changes, providing alternatives from a configuration standpoint as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing large, complex sourcing or procurement projects.

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external audiences. This role has high visibility and requires strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously while engaging stakeholders to ensure buy-in and effective decision-making.

  • Ability to operate with autonomy but engage stakeholders as required to gain buy-in and manage effective decision-making.

  • Ability to manage, interpret, and analyze large data sets, and present findings to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in sourcing and leading RFP processes in a BPO environment.

  • Cross-functional project management experience.

  • Project Management Profession (PMP) Certification.

  • Proficiency in a second international language (French, Spanish or German).
