Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) is the Merchant Acquirer, Processor and Marketing partner for millions of merchants around the world who accept American Express Cards. This exciting role sits within the Global Strategy and Capabilities (GS&C) team supporting Global Client Group (GCG). This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the Merchant business by leading analytics / reporting processes and developing relationships across teams and with senior leaders.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for business performance reporting and – more importantly – providing insights and recommendations to inform and drive business strategy. You will also work closely with finance, sales enablement (SABE) and international colleagues to manage a suite of business-critical merchant performance dashboards.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead annual planning processes for GCG International (LRP, forecasting and target setting) in close partnership with GCG International Leadership, CLMs and Finance.

  • Lead monthly review of results with GCG leadership. Undertake in-depth analysis of key business performance metrics, highlighting trends that inform and drive business strategy.

  • Manage business-critical merchant performance reporting suite. Evaluate current reporting to identify opportunities that will drive automation, eliminate redundancies, and address reporting gaps and provide proactive insights.

  • Manage/support colleague scorecard production processes in alignment with global standards and direction.

  • Partner with various teams (including other regional teams, SABE, Finance, Pricing and other GMNS functions) to optimize alignment of best practice and understand/deliver on shared objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills, highly organized and detail oriented with an ability to multi-task. Able to synthesize large amounts of complex data with the ability to draw key conclusions.

  • Passion for developing and driving partnerships across multiple functions across the Enterprise

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to distill financial data into clear, concise, and actionable insights

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing priorities and drive results while meeting critical deadlines

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite required (Power Point, Excel)
  • An undergraduate degree; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience in querying data and experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & BigQuery (for LUMI) is a plus.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
