DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Accounting Associate – Level III to join our team specializing in Finance for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring Accuracy : By completing account reconciliations and analyses, you will ensure financial data is accurate and dependable.
  • Streamlining Processes : Your role in the month-end close process will help streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Providing Insights : Through compiling and analyzing accounting and finance information, you will provide valuable insights that inform decision-making.
  • Supporting Compliance : Preparing standard journal entries and performing complex reconciliations will support compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Enhancing Reporting : By preparing tables, charts, and other exhibits, you will enhance the clarity and effectiveness of financial reports.
  • Driving Projects : Participating in complex accounting projects will drive improvements and innovations within the finance department.
  • Adapting to Needs : Performing ad hoc reporting requests will ensure that the organization can quickly adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Working Independently : Your ability to perform activities under minimal supervision will demonstrate your reliability and capability, contributing to the overall success of the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Customer Focus : Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers. Deliver solutions that are tailored to their needs and enhance their overall experience.
  • Decision Quality : Make well-informed and timely decisions that help keep the organization moving forward. Balance risks and opportunities effectively to support strategic goals.
  • Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities. Provide insights to stakeholders to drive business improvements. Ensure the integrity of financial data by investigating variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Financial Internal Controls : Assess and strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial reporting risks. Develop and implement remediation plans to address any identified issues and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Financial Regulations Acumen : Stay informed about relevant financial regulations and ensure compliance. Educate stakeholders on the requirements and implications of these regulations to ensure transactions are recorded accurately.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • A two-year University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information

Other RMEP responsibilities include:

  • Assist with capital expense reporting and forecasting.
  • Assist with labor cost capitalization process and reconciliation.
  • Support costing process improvement projects.
  • Identifying and implementing cost saving opportunities
  • Assist with financial modelling and weekly cost model support.
  • Assist with Annual Operating Plan as needed.

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The

final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s

qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
