Function Description

  • Card & Merchant Accounting and Controls (CMAC) team in Global Financial Operations, Controllership, manages the foundational accounting for Card Member spend, Remittances and Merchant payments along with various other operational accounting processes that is core to a Credit Card domain.

  • This team is the last line of defense and liaisons with broader controllership, technology / product, and Global Service Group (GSG) / servicing teams to ensure correct Card Member allocations and financial integrity is embedded in the end-to-end process.

How will you make an impact in this role?

This B30 position within CMAC will play a critical role to ensure all Compliance and control related activities including managing all SOX & Operational Excellence requirements are fulfilled for all CMAC Processes. The incumbent will be responsible for ensure constant evaluation, update and strengthening the Control Environment.  This position will also be responsible managing and tracking of issues within the CMAC Governance log process. 

The incumbent will also be responsible to foster a collaborative partnership between the Financial Operational Excellence & SOX team and the centralized GFO Compliance team. 

  • Manage the associated PRSA and controls, ensure robust control environment around the process. Compliance with AXP policies, US GAAP requirements

  • Responsible for managing all PRSA framework requirements for CMAC PRSAs (PRSA refresh, certification, etc.)

  • Conduct SOX Testing for Key SOX / Operational controls for CMAC PRSAs

  • Managing OREs – Tracking progress, remediation and create themes for exceptions / OREs within CMAC

  • Manage MJE Delegations & Signature card update

  • Responsible managing and tracking of issues within the CMAC Governance log process Assist AR & Remittance team to create analytics to help business partners get insights into financials

  • Managing the RDT requirements for all CMAC PRSAs

  • Managing all BCP & BIA requirements

  • Governance of Inventory/ spreadsheet log certification

  • Ability to drive self and team goals with continuous focus on process improvement.

  • Demonstrate effective proactiveness, transformational mindset as well as strong analytical skills.

  • Be able to proactively highlight, communicate and mitigate risks.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders across the organization and build relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

·        B.com with 3-6 years or CA/MBA/post grad with 2 years of work experience

·       US GAAP knowledge and Audit experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, AR System of Record applications like Triumph, Globestar, Legacy AR Platforms etc.

  • Analytical skills, ability to understand the linkages to processes.

  • Excellent team player with strong Inter-Personal skills and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Accounting Knowledge.

  • Knowledge of AXP Spend Infrastructure

  • Leadership skills needed to create, develop, and communicate with diverse work force.

  • Strong Accounting Knowledge.

  • Ability to think innovatively and to pursue ideas with conviction.
