Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Process Leader is responsible for spearheading specific projects aimed at creating and implementing comprehensive manufacturing processes. This role ensures that all aspects of the manufacturing process align with safety standards, manufacturing goals, business objectives, and product specifications.

In this role you will make an impact in following ways:

  • Lead the development and execution of project plans to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles to improve equipment and processes.
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Adhere to and contribute to the development of Cummins manufacturing standards and methods.
  • Facilitate effective communication with external stakeholders, business leaders, and team members.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to meet project deliverables.
  • Maintain and share advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles specific to Cummins.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, providing coaching and guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Communication Proficiency: Skilled in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors, contributing to an interdependent culture and an injury-free workplace.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Ability to integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the development of optimal manufacturing processes.
  • Equipment/Capital Procurement: Experience in selecting manufacturing equipment that meets organizational specifications and project needs.
  • Manufacturing Analysis Led Design: Proficient in using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, driving data-driven decisions and continuous improvements.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in implementing changes to enhance manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications.
  • Process Documentation: Capable of producing detailed manufacturing procedures that ensure process continuity and standardization.
  • Tool and Fixture Design: Expertise in selecting work-piece-holding devices that secure parts effectively during manufacturing processes.
  • Values Differences: Recognition of the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Ability to identify areas for process improvement and implement methodologies to reduce costs and enhance quality.
  • Ergonomics Process and Workplace Design: Skilled in designing or adapting processes and workstations according to ergonomic guidelines to minimize risk.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to mentor others and implement solutions that prevent reoccurrence of issues.
  • Workstation Design: Proficient in designing safe, healthy, and ergonomic workstations, considering cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Contributes to the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while contributing to teams.

•Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

•Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications.

•Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.

•Coordinates Kaizen events as necessary
