DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Operations Excellence Program Manager to join our Cummins Drivetrain & Braking Systems (CDBS) team. Ideally this position will be based in KY, IN, NC or SC and will travel roughly 50%.

The Operations Excellence Program Leader will provide overall leadership for sites, campuses, and regions, guiding and coaching teams to support progression towards a World Class Manufacturing organization under the Cummins Operating System (COS) and the Operations Excellence Key Processes. This role will manage improvement for the overall effectiveness of one or more functions within a region, consulting and supporting processes, capabilities, systems, and data for the function aligned to end-to-end value stream performance goals. Additionally, the Operations Excellence Program Leader will partner with various functions to drive improvement activities, deliver performance objectives of impacted value streams, and improve outcomes for customers.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage the application of Operations Excellence principles and practices at Cummins.
  • Create functional maturity goals in collaboration with business leaders, other functional leaders, and end-to-end process owners.
  • Manage the operations excellence strategy and roadmap to achieve these maturity goals.
  • Oversee performance metrics for the function that contribute to performance goals of internal value chains or end-to-end processes.
  • Coach business leaders and other functional leaders to identify real issues, develop improvement initiatives, and implement them successfully.
  • Contribute to functional talent activities, including global position profiles, competencies, and learning and development needs.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of relevant practices, analytics, governance, and quality.
  • Lead and participate in knowledge sharing to develop enterprise subject-matter expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • College, university or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience required.
  • Extensive relevant work experience required, including manufacturing or manufacturing plant experience, and leadership of a large project or multiple projects.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
