Sr Microsoft 365 Engineer (Remote)

JOB DESCRIPTION  

 

Location: Fully-Remote; Anywhere in the Continental US

Reports to: Director of IT

Position: Full time, 40 hours per week, exempt employee 

Salary: $105,000

JOB PURPOSE  

 

The Sr Microsoft 365 Engineer will innovate to solve business challenges and lead the execution of IT initiatives in support of The Recycling Partnership’s mission. This person will be the technical owner of enterprise applications and lead project implementation for company initiatives. This includes maintaining existing solutions and implementing new systems. This person will work cross-functionally to complete tasks. Being a team player who excels at balancing security and compliance requirements and business needs is a must. 

 

This position is on the IT Team, which is part of the broader Business Operations team, which includes Finance and Legal. The IT Team is creating an ecosystem to connect all internal teams and foster a culture of communication and collaboration.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS JOB

  • Serve as a technical expert in the administration of enterprise solutions such as Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Intune, Entra ID, Defender, and SharePoint), Check Point Harmony, Mosyle, and other collaboration tools, ensuring the efficient operation of cloud-based applications and services. 
  • Implement and maintain security solutions, tools, and protocols to protect company assets and data.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on improving processes, systems, and efficiency, including new platforms, applications, and vendors, to ensure current and future business needs and objectives are met. 
  • Act as the technical escalation point within the internal IT team for complex issues and advanced troubleshooting for company tools and integrated systems. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation on environmental setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices. 
  • Advance the Partnership’s mission by helping lead progress toward team and organization goals and collaborating within the team and cross-functionally.

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE FOR THIS JOB  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or IT certification(s) preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system administration, focusing on managing and securing enterprise systems and solutions.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Cloud Solutions, including Microsoft 365, Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Azure.
  • Knowledge of and experience with security technologies, including WAF, SIEM, antivirus software, and VPN. 
  • Familiarity with administrating collaboration and productivity tools such as Notion, Slack, Zoom, Atlassian, Airtable, etc. 
  • Expert-level understanding of industry best practices and principles such as identity and access management, single sign-on, endpoint management, etc. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a remote work environment.
  • Team mentoring or leadership experience is preferred. 
  • Passion for the environment, sustainability, reducing waste, and advancing the circular economy a plus.
