Manager – Investment & Capacity Planning

About Global Network Strategy & Transformation
Global Network Strategy & Transformation (GNS&T) is the team tasked with envisioning the American Express payment Network of the future and executing the cross-functional transformation necessary to deliver it. Taking the lead on this strategic imperative for the company, this global team is looking to define and deliver new services and capabilities to drive business differentiation, growth, and deliver a digital global payments Network that is an enabler of rapid innovation.
Reporting to the Director, Investment & Capacity Planning, the Manager will be responsible for defining and developing a capacity planning model for Network & Acquirer Solutions.
Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Develop, implement, and operate a capacity model to facilitate rapid sizing and delivery scheduling; respond to an evolving Product Roadmap.
- Develop and maintain a detailed program scope and capability framework (level 2) and collaborate with teams across the program.
- Publish and report on capacity and scheduling options, identify optimization opportunities and drive capacity-driven capability build roadmaps with AET and GNO teams.
- Produce presentation materials for executive updates.
- Engage and support global business teams, product leaders, engineering, and other applicable groups to ensure flawless execution.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be someone with a passion to drive effective change in a fast moving and innovative environment. S/he will be an experienced leader with proven ability to rapidly develop strong relationships, while quickly learning about the payments landscape.
Skills & Experience
- Proven program management expertise, including the ability to develop and maintain an effective integration with other dependent workstreams.
- Strong understanding of the Product Management lifecycle.
- Experience developing capacity (resource/infrastructure) models to facilitate the software build within planned schedule and funding constraints.
- Experience and knowledge of Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and partner with internal teams.
- Innovative leader with ability to think creatively to solve problems.
- Customer-focused.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
