Primary Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the Investment Communication Advisor to is to maximize the impact of investment communication mainly across the Equity Division (and broader organization as needed), with the goal of strengthening clarity of thought, dialogue and ultimately, improving investment results.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coach Analysts and Portfolio Managers across US Equity on clear and thoughtful oral and written communication to improve investment results.
- Coach Analysts and Portfolio Managers to interview company management.
- Build partnerships with Directors of Research to act as a trusted advisor on communication and leadership challenges.
- Design and conduct workshops as needed for investors on presentation skills, management interviews, and other job-related necessary skills.
- Develop and document tools and best practices which improve the communication between investment professionals.
- Support the onboarding of new Analysts/Associate Analysts as well as lateral-hire Analysts to help them with their research and impact to the firm.
- Attend Director of Research meetings to understand priorities and challenges facing the business.
- Consult with Global Distribution and other BUs to inform communication and positioning at investor events.
- Consult with C-level executives on critical communications.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and at 8+ years of relevant experience
- Prior Asset management industry knowledge
- Investment experience (Equity)
- Exceptional communication skills required.
- Ability to build trust, rapport and credibility quickly with Investment Professionals
Preferred
- MBA and/or CFA
- Prior communication experience
- Ability to prioritize and support multiple initiatives and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills; identify highest needs and prioritize work accordingly.
- Strong diplomacy and tact
- Flexibility to adapt coaching style to the most effective for the circumstance and audience.
- Ability to diagnose the root cause of communication successes and failures at both the individual and systemic level.
- Ability to provide practical tools and advice to improve efficiency of Investment Professionals
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work up to one day a week.
Base salary ranges:
$175,000.00-$250,000.00 for the location of: California, New York$175,000.00-$250,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$175,000.00-$250,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
