This position will be a key member of the Business Development, Client Strategy, and Insights team within the Virtual Client Solutions (VCS) business. Virtual Client Solutions is made up of three businesses – Stock Plan, Retail and, MSVA – which come together to drive Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s growth strategy of reaching prospective clients in the early stages of wealth accumulation by introducing stock plan participants and self-directed retail clients to the full-service advice channel as clients. VCS has seen exponential growth over the last 3 years across key business metrics, all of which have been driven by initiatives coming out of this Business Development & Strategy team.
The Business Development, Client Strategy and Insights team is responsible for developing the strategic initiatives that drives the business forward to achieve our goals. This includes general client engagement strategy as well as growth & retention efforts. The ED role on this team will align to one of the business lines to develop these efforts and apply business insights to optimize results. Partnering across WM teams including Analytics & Data, Technology, Marketing, Reinvestment, and Wealth Management field leadership will be critical to this individual’s success.

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver strategic initiatives and projects related to growth and process efficiency
- Advise leadership with critical insights and own strategic decisions and initiatives
- Drive asset capture through idea generation and execution of relevant client outreach campaigns
- Manage the book allocation process across services-to-sales professionals in line with driving the best client experience and business outcomes
- Refine service to sales business model and execution for the covered business line
- Develop effective communications and presentations for senior business stakeholders
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of key metrics for business reports
- Coordinate various referral programs with the rest of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management
- Opportunity to use various reporting and visualization tools, including proprietary and third-party tools (Salesforce, Tableau, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in the Financial Services industry
- 2 years of experience managing direct reports with interest in developing talent
- 2 years of reporting and forecasting using historical data and trends and reporting business reults
- Experience with service or sales related deliverables / goals
- Experience leading and influencing cross-functional initiatives
- Experience with strategic thinking, problem solving & analytical aptitude – ability to utilize data to generate innovative ideas to drive the business forward; test & learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Dataiku and Tableau
- Ability to develop valuable presentations for senior management
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
- Strong listening and verbal/written communication skills that understands audience awareness
- Detail and results oriented; Interpersonal, collaborative and team skills
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150k and $250k per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
