As part of this group, our dedicated team of equity plan specialists in Global Intelligence partner with law firms across the world to deliver a cost effective employee equity plan compliance management service for global private and public companies, ensuring clients have the information they need to successfully operate their plans. Our Global Intelligence platform provides direct support and expertise including tax and legal information, tax guides, project management tools and additional resources for over 150 jurisdictions. Our tax withholding product for non-mobile, mobile and 3rd party tax calculations within equity administration platforms enables clients to apply the required rates and withholding positions and provides visibility and clarity to participants on how and why tax is applied to equity compensation.
Located in Calgary - Alberta, or Tempe, AZ and reporting to the Vice President, Global Intelligence Information Team Manager, the Global Equity Tax Specialist, Assistant Vice President role leads in:
· Ensuring the Global Intelligence platform accurately reflects information confirmed by third-party information providers on the tax and legal implications arising from the operation of equity plans in each jurisdiction covered by the platform.
· Communicating changes to the tax and legal implications of operating equity plans in a timely manner.
Our ideal candidate has experience in advising companies on the tax implications of operating global equity plans, is technically savvy, with strong communication skills. You have a passion for global tax compliance and tax mobility. Knowledge of regulatory compliance is also highly beneficial. You have a deep belief in team success, a willingness to adapt to continuous change and technological solutions, and a desire to take ownership over responsibilities. You also have a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders. Attention to detail is of paramount importance as is fluency in English.

Responsibilities:
- Liaises with third party information providers to update the legal and tax information in the Global Intelligence platform for over 150 countries (and, for the United States, Canada, and Switzerland, updating information at a state, provincial and cantonal level).
- Communicates tax changes in a timely manner and provides reasoning behind to multiple stakeholders at Morgan Stanley at Work ensuring Global Intelligence is the one single source of information when aligning multiple departments
- Grows and maintains relationships with new and existing third-party information providers
- Using knowledge of tax legislation, tax policies and mobility rules to propose improvements and development to the Global Intelligence platform to ensure the platform remains a disruptive force with leading technology in the regulatory, compliance and tax space
- Comparing the information displayed on the Global Intelligence platform with publicly available information to confirm alignment of the information on the platform
· Collaborates with Global Intelligence’s network of information providers to deliver global tax and legal updates in multiple formats (i.e., newsletters and webinars)

Qualifications / skills
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in global equity in a professional services firm
- Bachelor’s degree or similar area of focus.
· Superior and demonstrable attention to detail
· Proven project management skills
· Highly tech-oriented person with demonstrated experience of understanding complexities of Software as a Service (SaaS)
· Fluency in both oral and written English is required
· Excellent communications skills – verbal, written, presentation.
· Highly collaborative and team oriented
· Excellent at building relationships
· Focus on continuous improvement and client satisfaction
