Position Summary
As a key leader of the EA leadership team, the Director of EA Governance and Strategy is responsible for the design and operation of the Enterprise Architecture Governance framework, including governing the Architecture Review Board (ARB), designing a comprehensive set of principles and guardrails, and implementing architecture compliance elements. This role will drive IT asset rationalization, lifecycle management, technical debt assessment, and technical risk management and remediation. Last, this role will oversee architecture governance operating model and engagement/enablement of architecture community which consists of architects across the channel/Line of Business (LoB) teams and technical domain teams.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to overarching development of the architecture strategy to optimize, simplify and de-risk technology landscape, in alignment with business capabilities, and help at firm level achieve corporate objectives, for long term success of our firm and our clients.
Establish, define and maintain architecture governance mechanisms to enforce architecture principles, policies, reporting, best practices and standards across the firm, and ensure consistency with defined governance across the enterprise.
Oversee the architecture review process, including intake integration with existing PMO and Agile processes, assessment of architectural significance against defined threshold, day-to-day operations of governance process, and communication of output and decisions from ARB.
Responsible for developing and executing architecture compliance elements of EA governance, to ensure project level compliance meeting architectural principles, standards and reference architecture.
Drive IT asset optimization and application rationalization, to better align technical and business capabilities, to simplify technical landscape, and reduce duplication and fragmentation.
Lead the methodology definition and execution of IT technical risk and technical debt assessment, drive development of remediation roadmap to systematically reduce technical risk and increase speed to market.
Oversee the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Repository, and EA content metamodel, which will consist of principles, patterns, decision framework, reference architecture, capability models, key asset inventory, etc. This content repository will provide foundational knowledge base and operating database for performing on-going analysis and asset rationalization.
Chair Architecture Advisory Council (AAC) and engage the architecture community of practice across channel/LoB teams of solution architects and technical domain owners, to socialize EA artifacts, best practice and collect feedback on EA effectiveness.
Drive adoption of EA artifacts to provide guidance for solution design, deliver value to development and engineering teams, and improve speed and quality of delivery.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 10+ years of total relevant work experience
Experience working within Enterprise Architecture function, ideally in the financial services industry, for a global investment management organization
Technical Skills:
Demonstrates mastery of EA processes, metrics, systems, and tools.
Enterprise architecture practice and development methodology, governance framework.
Application and technology portfolio rationalization, lifecycle management, technical debt management
Broader architecture exposure a plus, e.g. application, data, infrastructure and security.
Broader experience of IT governance and corporate governance a plus.
Leadership and Soft Skills:

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.
Base salary ranges:
$208,500.00 - $350,000.00 for the location of: California, New York$183,000.00 - $312,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$166,500.00 - $284,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
