Job Description
The firmwide Brand Marketing team is looking for a Head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management Marketing Strategy to lead on FW Marketing to lead the strategy development and implementation of the MSIM global marketing strategy and plan in collaboration with MSIM leadership, distribution teams & channel marketing leaders across all channels both BU and FWM.
Primary Responsibilities
-Cultivate relationships with internal business partners to understand the business strategy, objectives, and priorities; synthesize and relay this information to FW Marketing colleagues (e.g., brand, paid media, content, social, digital, research, international)
-Serve as a strategic and collaborative thought partner with investment teams, channel marketing leads and corporate communications in the management in the delivery of strategic marketing messages across key intermediary and institutional audiences both in the US & Internationally (from a holistic business/channel perspective).
-Lead the annual Morgan Stanley investment Management 360 consolidated, cohesive marketing plan and quarterly business review process. Resulting in increasing awareness & consideration, influencing decision makers and ultimately helping with lead generation/conversion leading to measurable ROI.
-Partner with investment & product and channel marketing teams on holistic go to market plans across channels to deliver on key KPIs and coordinate the consolidation, calendar, and plan across FWM to have one holistic view of campaigns, activations, and tests.
-Partner with key teams in FW Marketing & the business to develop a cohesive, digestible view of the full marketing plan as well as quarterly breakdowns and a scorecard and active approach to measurement, ongoing analysis including test & learn strategy and optimization plan.
-Collaborate with COO's across FWM and MSIM to utilize MSIM marketing budget to achieve best return for marketing investments, leveraging campaigns, events and digital activities underpinned by content.
-Ensure the global MSIM marketing organization (FW Marketing and Channel Marketing) has clear competencies across all businesses and channels, along with essential platform capabilities (e.g., digital/AI, thought leadership/content, channel/client marketing, product marketing, roadshows, third party conferences, etc).
-Coordinate with marketing sub-teams (e.g., brand, performance marketing, product, investment content, digital (TOM) etc.) to ensure brand consistency, building a Marketing community and developing market leading expertise within for all marketing related activities.
-Collaborate with corporate communications with respect to the brand, building it with distinct, compelling, and competitive positioning as it relates to client channels and opportunities.
-Position clients' needs and the firm's strategy as the north star for all Marketing activities.
In depth experience in Asset Management Marketing from either/or an international and leading player in the financial services industry.
-Proven experience and understanding of financial services business models, asset management and capital markets. Understanding of both institutional and global wealth investor bases, and knowledge of alternatives, fixed income, international equity will be necessary to succeed.
-Evidence of working seamlessly and in partnership with colleagues across broader marketing organizations, as well as colleagues in key partner functions such as investment, product, sales and corporate communications.
-Experience in acting as counsel on marketing and brand management with senior and diverse stakeholders, including legal and compliance.
-Proven track record in developing and implementing a marketing plan to drive client outcomes and deliver financial results.
-Experience of digital marketing and thought leadership.
-Proven experience of building and leading asset management marketing teams, ideally with global or multi-regional reach.
-A deep understanding of best practice data management, KPIs and tracking, and an ability to drive business insight to help the business make better decisions, drive lead generation and grow revenue.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $165,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
