What You Will Do:

Production Test Engineering is looking for a highly motivated individual to support testing of F135 engines in Finland. The Production Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring every engine demonstrates all test requirements and resolves issues involving the test stand, data acquisition, and/or the engine.  Additionally, Production Test Engineering collaborates on projects related to facility and process improvements. Individuals must be able to work well with others to achieve results.

This posting is for an EXPAT role in Finland.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform troubleshooting on engine, test systems hardware, and test systems software
  • Review and trend engine performance/execution to make sure every engine meets the performance specifications outlined in its specific test procedures
  • Provide written engineering recommendations during engine test
  • Communicate with external engineering groups as issues arise during tests
  • Ability to generate and maintain work instructions supporting test activities
  • Flow down operator/inspector communications as required via communication material from model managers, test integration leads, test management

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience with engines, modules, systems, or equivalent is required.
  • The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of engine systems operation, special test equipment, and tooling.
  • The candidate will become familiar with in-house processes such as analyzing test data, working with our production specific acquisition system, and processing compliance /customer requirements.
  • Engine test, flight line and/or engine shop maintenance knowledge is highly desired.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a U.S. Secret or higher DoD Security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with engine construction
  • Familiarity with instrumentation for vibration, temperature, force, pressure, and flow measurements
  • Familiarity with statistical process control
  • Ability to work in a diverse / high-impact group in high stress environments
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft software
  • Github / Python / Excel Macros experience
  • Flexibility with the occasional holiday support or flexible hours on exception basis

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
