We are seeking someone to join our team as a Global Financial Crimes (GFC) : Client Information Dataset Lead.
In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm's management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is a Vice President level position within the Monitoring & Screening Controls team, where you will be responsible for reviewing data quality control exceptions, assessing the scope, impact, and root cause of any potential data quality issues, required to determine if a data issue module is required to formally track the remediation of the issue. ?The role requires accessing GFC data, analyzing the data, and continuously following up with upstream data providers, to ensure that the root cause of the issue is documented, understood, and if necessary remediated..
The GFC Client Information Dataset Lead role will contribute to improving data quality by supporting the GFC Ontology documentation by defining GFC data objects, concepts, and the relationship between them via asset movement dataset requirements documents. As the data program matures, the role will support GFC's transformation efforts by improving GFC's use of the data available in the firm to improve the Firm's ability to measure, prevent, and detect financial crime risks.

In Global Financial Crimes (GFC), you will play a critical role in identifying potentially suspicious activity, protecting vulnerable individuals, and safeguarding the integrity of the financial system. GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts. Including governance, oversight, and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.

What you'll do in the role:
- Support Client Information Data Quality, Data Issues, and Data Lifecycle management framework for GFC
- Provide ontology support by defining data objects, relationships and concepts
- Identify critical data elements, define standards and data quality rules for data quality management
- Partner with IT counterparts in cataloguing Data Quality rules
- Partner with IT and GFC counterparts to identify and resolve Data Quality Exceptions
- Provide timely and accurate metrics and reporting of Data Quality across Global Financial Crimes {D Part 2: Scope of Role ?What you?ll bring? + JA Tier expected minimum experience}
What you'll bring to the role:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in risk and controls; data governance and data quality
- Ability to solicit information from stakeholders at various levels of the organization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to prioritize, organize and manage deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent certification/license - or certification within first 15 months of employment.
Where you'll be working:
This role will require in office attendance 3 days/week. Two of those days will be Anchor Days where you will be in the office with your teammates to learn, grow, and collaborate in person.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between 120000 and 205000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
