Position Summary:Working as part of the Finance team, the successful applicant will assist the company in the preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of financial data for monthly reporting and forecasting. Key aspects of the role will include measuring the financial performance of the company and its impact on the wider division, as well as ensuring compliance with all corporate finance policies.
The Accountant will require experience in monthly reporting, projections, KPIs, and will have hands-on knowledge of management accounts. The role demands a close working relationship within the Finance department to ensure alignment with overall business targets and reporting deadlines, as well as business partnering with senior management to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making. Strong analytical ability, commercial acumen and excellent communication skills are essential for translating complex financial data into clear, meaningful information for stakeholders.
What you will do:Manage General Ledger activities to ensure accuracy and compliance
Preparation of monthly reporting pack for Corporate accounting including commentary
Business partner to the R&D, Quality and Product Management functions, working closely with divisional leadership and cost centre managers to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, discuss variances and determine plans to achieve targets
Reporting of payroll by cost centre including accruals (bonus, vacation etc.)
Maintenance of bank accounts including posting and bank reconciliations
Sales reporting, including revenue recognition and intercompany adjustments
Warranty provision calculation and analysis of warranty returns
Assistance with integration of the financial reporting with the wider Stryker group policies and procedures
Support the annual standard cost calculations and analysis of changes
Assist in year-end statutory audit and corporation tax return computation, and internal audits as required
Reconciliation of key Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
Internal controls process documentation in line with Sarbanes Oxley framework and assistance with business partners across the organisation in the development and implementation of internal controls in line with Corporate Policies
Support shared service teams in resolving queries and ensuring accurate processing of data
Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives, providing robust analysis and actionable recommendations that drive efficiency, enhance controls, and deliver measurable business benefits
Delivering ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management
Any other duties deemed necessary by the Finance Manager

What you will need:Level 6 accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA
Minimum of 2 years working in an accountancy role within a manufacturing environment
Strong technical accounting background
Knowledge of internal control framework and risk mitigation
Understanding of manufacturing processes including inventory flows
Desirable
A degree in a finance or business-related subject or an equivalent qualification
Previous experience of working in a global company including US GAAP reporting (if applicable)
Previous experience of using SAP Business One ERP system and Hyperion Financial Management software
