Technical Product Manager - CIAM

Join Thomson Reuters' Digital and Enterprise Capabilities Team to build customer identity and access platform that power every product experience. This role is for a technical product manager who can partner deeply with engineers and architects to deliver CIAM and Customer Profile capabilities (authentication, authorization, consent, profile, preferences, account linking, and lifecycle management) at scale. You will own product vision, strategy, and execution for core CIAM/profile services—driving outcomes like improved onboarding, reduced identity fragmentation, stronger security posture, and faster product integration across the portfolio.
About the Role
In this role as a Technical Product Manager - CIAM, you will:
Lead discovery for CIAM use cases across products (B2C/B2B/hybrid):
sign-up, sign-in, account recovery
SSO, MFA / step-up authentication
identity lifecycle (create, update, deactivate, delete)
session/token management (as applicable)
authorization patterns (roles/scopes/claims as applicable)
consent and privacy preferences (where identity-related)
Be the "voice of the customer" for identity experiences; balance security, usability, and conversion.
Maintain a prioritized backlog (themes → epics → stories) and keep engineering unblocked.
Write clear technical requirements and user stories (including edge cases, failure states, and non-functional needs).
Partner closely with engineering and architecture on:
API design and integration patterns
dependencies with downstream systems (entitlements, billing, CRM, analytics, support tooling)
platform decisions (build vs buy, migration/deprecation, rollout strategy)
Lead/participate in agile ceremonies and support execution with the scrum team.
Coordinate releases and internal communications:
release notes, rollout plans, stakeholder updates, training/adoption materials
Collaborate cross-functionally with Security, Privacy/Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support to gather feedback and refine priorities.
Stay current on CIAM market trends, threats, and best practices; identify opportunities to improve capabilities and reduce risk.
Shift Timing: 2pm IST to 11pm IST

About You
You’re a fit for the role of Technical Product Manager - CIAM, if your background includes:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
6+ years as a Product Manager/Owner on web-based products and/or APIs and strong preference for experience with Identity & Access Management (IAM/CIAM)
Demonstrated experience in enterprise product lifecycle management (discovery, delivery, launch, iteration).
Experience leading and working with cross-functional agile/scrum teams.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to explain complex identity concepts simply.
Analytical mindset; comfortable using data and customer insights to drive decisions.
History of effective collaboration with architects and engineers; able to produce clear, actionable user stories.
Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect / SAML, SSO/MFA, token/session patterns.
Experience with change management and legacy system migrations
Exposure to privacy/consent and identity-related compliance requirements.
