DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting all Distribution Business customers, technicians, and other parts personnel in securing needed parts and supplies under moderate or direct supervision.
We are looking for a talented Service Parts Parts Associate to join our Distribution business in (Birmingham, AL).
Will make an impact in the following ways:
- Assist Distribution Business customers, technicians, and internal personnel in identifying and securing required parts and supplies
- Perform customer parts counter duties including receiving calls, greeting walk-in customers, completing paperwork, and processing cash, check, and credit card transactions
- Utilize systems, catalogs, and other resources to identify, source, and procure parts in a cost- and time-efficient manner
- Support technicians and other parts personnel with complex parts requests or alternative solutions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to parts transactions, inventory, and core processing
- Maintain a clean, organized customer parts area and warehouse
- Identify opportunities to upsell supporting products and services when appropriate
- Comply with Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and use required personal protective equipment
- Perform additional parts-related duties including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and warehouse activities as assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to support internal and external customers
- Working knowledge of parts order processing and order life cycle systems
- Ability to manage inventory using warehouse inventory control methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and computer systems, including report generation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians and cross-functional teams
- Action-oriented mindset with a focus on accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Some relevant work experience or intermediate knowledge gained through education, training, or on-the-job experience
- Ability to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations, if applicable
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong customer service skills required, relevant experience, self-starter
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports, and advanced level computer skills.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Requires some work experience or intermediate level of knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
