Client Operations Trade Settlement Analyst
Frankfurt

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo.

We’re seeking someone to join our Settlements Group deals in Frankfurt as an Analyst.
The Settlements Group deals with all aspects of trade settlement done in the German market including Over the Counter (OTC) trades and stock exchange trades in different type of products. A large number of daily functions have to be fulfilled to ensure that outstanding trades settle in time in order to avoid financial risk for the firm.

It is a challenging and dynamic environment where individuals are expected to work efficiently, under time pressure, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. The role also offers the opportunity for individuals to partner with our many stakeholders in order to further enhance the client experience and build upon successful relationships.

This is a Analyst position within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring securities settlement instructions are entered into the market correctly on behalf of Morgan Stanley Bank AG
    Ensuring correct settlement and safekeeping of assets under custody with Morgan Stanley Bank A
  • Ensuring that the operations department correctly records all trading and custody related transactions entered by Morgan Stanley Bank AG and its clients are properly reports to internal and external bodie
  • Ensure timely settlement and early matching to avoid CSDR settlement penalties and/or buy-in costs
  • Control all activities performed in accordance with the team and firm's risk control framework
    Check and investigate unknown stock receipts, monitoring suspense items in Safe, reflecting correct booking
  • Notifying MS international client-Service-Groups about unmatched / mismatched / pre-matched trades/partials/nettings
  • Partner with Local and International Teams in clearing settlement queries.
  • Monitoring instructions for cross border conversions, amending instructions where applicable
  • Escalation of problems with the above functions to supervisor and/or manager as per escalation matrix
  • Reconciliation of positions between the internal security delivery system SAFE and the custody account QWest and the entry of clearing entries
  • Processing and answering telephone and written inquiries from international customers and counterparties for business transactions

What you’ll bring in the role:

  • Experience of working in the following Operational process is required - Securities Settlements
  • Experience in processing of Corporate Actions (optional)
  • Operations experience within financial services desirable
  • Focus on continuous improvement of processes Educated to a degree or equivalent academic level or comparable banking education
  • Fluent in written & spoken English is required
  • Fluent in written & spoken German is preferred
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Degree or equivalent academic level in relevant field
  • Fluent in written & spoken English is essential
