Position Summary
Progression Applications Support Technician Role providing in-depth technical support on Levels 1 and 2 support items associated with an Applications Portfolio across the Ireland Campus.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Provide the following levels of support associated with Applications:
Level 1 Support (e.g. general inquiries, technical questions, troubleshooting, problem reproduction and basic procedural “how-to questions including MES Opcenter workflows, work instructions, container behaviour, and user-interface configuration.)
Level 2 Support (e.g. installation and configuration items which are of a less complex nature including MES Opcenter model changes such as resource updates, data collection configuration, attribute extensions, and basic workflow adjustment)
Problem management – assisting in identifying the potential root causes for recurring incidents at Level 1 and Level 2 support areas including issues stemming from MES model logic, routing definitions, WIP behaviour, or integration points.
Support internal customers in any day-to-day activities including MES execution tasks, master data changes, and system usage queries.
Support Production and upgrade activities.
Maintain related user documentation / Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by more senior team members.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Competently performs day to day activities and elevates more complex decisions.
Work collaboratively with others to achieve business objectives using communication and diplomacy skills.
Ability Initiate actions to improve MES processes, model robustness, system usability or data quality
Translate objectives into an action plan, with the help of a supervisor / mentor.
Develop skills needed to perform effectively in the role, including deeper understanding of MES modelling concepts such as workflows, operations, BOMs, BOs, resource modelling and data collection plans.
Provide on the job training/support to new team members.
Ability to use data and metrics to anticipate problems and will demonstrates the required values, behaviours, competencies in achieving these results.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
Third Level Qualification (minimum NFQ 6) within a Software or IT related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
4+ years’ experience within a Manufacturing Environment or equivalent, ideally with exposure to MES systems such as Siemens Opcenter / Camstar.
Foundation Level understanding of Systems and System Development Lifecycle.
Executes tactically under direction and competently performs day to day activities and elevates more complex activities.
High level of problem solving skills and a logical thinker.
Very good written and verbal communication skills.
Very good customer handling skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Team player with highly developed interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with excellent initiative and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize workload.
