As a Finance Manager, you will drive financial performance and support key business decisions at Stryker, a global medical device company whose products change lives. In this 12-month fixed-term role, you will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, partner with business leaders to optimize performance, and enhance reporting quality and efficiencies. What will you do:
Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with business goals.
Partner with the business to analyze financial results, investigate variances, identify root causes, and develop recovery or optimization plans.
Optimize cost structures, productivity, and capital efficiency, monitoring cash flow and implementing actions to improve net working capital.
Analyze pricing and margin performance across products, customers, and business units to define an optimal product mix that maximizes profitability and long-term sustainability.
Manage month-end close activities, reviewing country P&L and balance sheet, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
Oversee inventory accounting in coordination with Operations and the Inventory Center of Excellence.
Provide analytical support to central FP&A, delivering insights on market trends, sales channel performance, operating expenses, and cost developments.
Lead and develop the local finance team, working closely with the finance shared service center and acting as a key user of financial reporting systems.’
Serve as a local partner to the internal control and compliance departments in ensuring supporting the implementation and adherence to policies and procedures.
What will you need:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
8+ years of experience in financial planning, controlling, or finance business partnering, including 3+ years in people or project management
Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or CIMA-qualified Management Accountant
Industry experience in MedTech, FMCG, or Logistics, with strong inventory accounting, stock analysis, and management
Experience in capital investment planning and evaluation, including post-investment reviews and ROI analysis
Hands-on experience with inventory reviews, stock analytics, and variance reporting
Experience in organizations with annual revenue of ~ZAR 500 million or more
Advanced ERP and financial systems proficiency (SAP, Oracle/Hyperion, or similar)
Fluency in English
Preferred:
Experience in Medical Devices, Healthcare, or related Life Sciences sectors
Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
