About the team
Growth and Shopping data science supports the product teams focusing on customer acquisition, activation, retention, and engagement. We’re a team of 12 people including Data Scientists and Business intelligence analysts. We’re entrusted to deliver insights for the customer funnel through insight analysis, causal modeling, and experimentation. Our team works the most often with product teams and engineering teams to bring actionable business recommendations into the business.About the role
This role will be an integral partner to the Shopping Product teams, enabling users to discover homes in their home-buying journey. Searching and evaluating homes is Zillow’s core offering for buyers and one of the most used and beloved features on Zillow. Providing the best-in-class experience and presenting the most relevant information to buyers is central to Zillow product leadership’s user engagement and retention goals at the VP level. This role provides high visibility for data science impact and is an opportunity to partner with stakeholders from a highly dynamic and innovative product team.
This role will be responsible for guiding the product roadmap in the shopping product area. For example, identifying areas of opportunity using data, presenting what opportunity we have within the customer funnel to stakeholders, and supporting experimentation once a feature goes into testing. This role would also be responsible for understanding the trend for the core metrics within this area, to drive timely investigations if needed.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location.
Who you are
We are looking for someone passionate about experimentation, translating complicated data sets and business problems into easily consumable and impactful insights. You will also need to be unafraid of tackling complexity and new business problems. We're searching for a Data Scientist who has:
Strong SQL and Python/r experience
Experience generating analytical insights and drive business impact
Strong experimentation skills and statistical knowledge
Some exposure to Data Viz like Tableau or something similar
Experience in online and offline experimentation is a huge plus
Propensity modeling or causal inference
Modeling techniques
