Corporate transactions represent a massive and growing market for legal services. Transactional legal work is complex—critical, nuanced legal terms are woven into lengthy documents. These documents must be digested and analyzed by attorneys, clients, and counterparties over the course of a single transaction. This fundamental need, combined with increasing deal volume and complexity, drives enormous demand for precise extraction and benchmarking of transaction terms among law firm practitioners and their clients.

We're seeking a Product Specialist to drive new growth for our AI-enabled legal technology portfolio. In this role, you will leverage your legal expertise and technical acumen to partner with law firms and corporate legal departments, optimizing their use of data to analyze transaction terms and unlock competitive advantage.

As a Product Specialist, you'll be a bridge between engineering and sales, becoming an expert in the capabilities of Thomson Reuters' transactional-focused data platform; you will help the most sophisticated transactional attorneys navigate the platform on the highest profile deals in the market. You will collaborate with a talented, cross-functional team of machine learning PhDs, legal subject-matter experts, data, security, and product engineers, among others. Your role directly impacts our product and your expertise will be utilized to help set product direction and investment in future capabilities.

About the Role

As a Product Specialist, you will:

  • Work hands-on with transactional attorneys to advise on how our platform, data and insights can be utilized on live and historical transactions.

  • Run teach-ins, training sessions, and demonstrations of platform capabilities and use cases.

  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams for pre-sales engineering support and lead technical components of the sales cycle.

  • Contribute meaningfully to new model training and quality control through distillation of subject-matter expertise into multi-layered AI systems.

  • Provide critical support to product strategy and direction, including advising meaningfully on key investment areas for new features and capabilities.

  • Contribute to novel data content production, visualization and distribution, including proprietary content strategy.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Product Specialist if your background includes:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top law school preferred

  • 2+ years of experience at a top law firm or top legal department

  • Expertise in transactional legal practice on one or more of: mergers & acquisitions, capital markets / securities, credit/finance, or corporate transactions

  • A self-starting, problem-solving, creative approach biased towards action and execution.

  • Drive and resilience: genuine motivation to build something new, take on challenges, and push through ambiguity in a change-resistant industry

It would be nice if:

  • You have prior experience at a technology company or in industry

  • You are interested in finance or economics

  • You have advanced excel and PowerPoint skills

  • You have prior experience or background in computer programming, but please note that this is not a development role

  • You have significant interest in cutting edge AI, NLP or Machine Learning technology

  • You have prior experience with large group presentations or communication

  • You thrive in a high-leverage, fast-paced environment
