The Sustainable Investing (SI) team, part of Invesco’s Stewardship organization, is responsible for all the SI/ESG related aspects within Invesco. The team has a global presence, and the present role is part of the SI Team in Hyderabad.
Your Role
The main purpose of the Associate Specialist - SI role is to research and analyze ESG-related controversies associated with companies held across Invesco’s SFDR fund range. The person will also be responsible looking at other SI research topics like Good Governance & SFDR PAIs (Principle Adverse Impact). The person also gets involved in ESG analytical capabilities, analyze, screen and monitor portfolio and security level ESG risks and factors, vendor analysis and strategizing the ESG data integration and analytics initiatives. The role is designed to deliver and enhance superior investment experience to both internal and external stakeholders including our Fund Managers, Product Managers, Sales and Marketing and other functional partners as well as our clients.
The Experience You Bring
SI Research (70%):
Research for the predefined ESG-related controversies associated with securities held in Invesco’s Article 6, 8 and 9 fund range
Analyze relevant controversies and produce qualitative output to be shared with analysts and investment teams
Research on Good Governance and PAIs (Principle Adverse Impact) aspects
Provide recommendations for the betterment and automation of the research process
Research issuers for any unsustainable business practices
SI Analytics (30%):
Conduct portfolio level ESG analysis and research to assist various internal stakeholders (Investment teams etc.) and provide effective consultation on ESG risks and factors impacting the portfolio
Build/Assist Technology in building ESG Analytics on various Internal and external platforms
Create content/materials (presentations, reports etc.) to support the Investment teams with ESG Reviews and CIO Challenges
Assist Investment teams in creating/reposition ESG product strategies in collaboration with product and ESG client strategy team by providing ESG data and analytical expertise to help them get market ready
Provide recommendations on the evolving market and client needs for ESG funds reporting
Evaluate external ESG data vendors (new or existing) in collaboration with MDS group to ensure that Invesco has access to the required ESG data sets to meet global demand
Provide strategic recommendations and roadmap on various ESG projects/ initiatives related to data and analytical capabilities
Effectively manage various ESG projects/ initiatives as a business owner in collaboration with other functional teams such as Technology, Legal, Risks, Compliance, and Investments
Academic requirements
Master’s degree in finance, or related field.
4-6 years of experience in Capital Markets domain, preferably in Asset Management Industry
Experience in ESG domain and knowledge of various ESG data providers/sources like MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.
Flair for researching independently, excellent verbal and written communication skills (Concise and content writing)
Passing any level of CFA would be added advantage
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as SQL, Excel, Python, R, and data visualization software, is typically required.
Ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Understanding of data quality, data governance, and data security principles
