The Payroll Tax Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization maintains compliance and accuracy in all payroll tax functions. This position is responsible for investigating and responding to tax authority inquiries and notices in a timely manner. Collaboration with payroll providers is essential to guarantee that tax deposits and filings are both accurate and submitted within required deadlines. The analyst will prepare 941 stock estimated deposits utilizing ADP Smart Compliance and oversee company registrations with state and local tax agencies, ensuring all entities are properly set up for payroll tax reporting within the payroll system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to tax authority inquiries and notices, conducting thorough investigations where necessary.
- Collaborate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate tax deposits and filings.
- Prepare 941 stock estimated deposits using ADP Smart Compliance.
- Oversee company registrations with state and local tax agencies to ensure proper payroll tax reporting setup.
- Resolve employee tax questions on a daily basis and partner with HR Operations and internal teams to streamline processes and facilitate issue resolution.
- Process W-2 corrections (W2-c’s) and monitor amendment workflows.
- Support bi-weekly payroll tax audit processes by resolving errors and maintaining compliance.
- Manage updates to state W-4 forms and participate in various payroll tax projects.
- Assist with other payroll-related duties as necessary.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- 2-3 years payroll tax experience required
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and laws (Required).
- Payroll experience with large multi-state employer.
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required).
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required).
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as MS Word and
- Excel ( Intermediate to advanced skills required).
- Previous experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 77,700.00 to 120,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
