We are currently seeking a Staff Engineer, Product Development to join our Joint Replacement Division based in Mahwah, NJ to support the Hip Business Unit. As a Staff Engineer, you will oversee projects to enhance and expand our Hip product portfolio, providing technical guidance to Product Development engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Operations.
You will balance strategic vision and project execution. You will plan, coordinate, monitor, and execute projects while engaging all stakeholders, including end users (surgeons), to ensure the successful development of medical devices from inception to launch.
You will need to live within commuting distance to Stryker’s Mahwah, NJ office and be on-site 2 days per week.

What you will do
Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
Follow and mentor others on R&D procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.
Support and execute segments of complex multifunctional teams to advance projects through the design /development/launch process. Independently research, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components for medical devices.
Analyze and correct complex product design issues using independent judgment. Advance solutions by applying in-depth knowledge of customer needs, market and competitive offerings.
Conduct or design advanced prototyping and testing. Apply detailed knowledge of clinical procedures to author design inputs. Support Voice of Customer sessions internally and with clinicians.
Be proficient with and mentor others in the usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations.
Lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
Identify and support the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology.
What you need
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field).
Minimum four years of relevant engineering experience.
Highly Preferred Qualifications
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in product development, manufacturing processes, and interpreting complex engineering drawings with GD&T.
Project Leadership: Proven ability to lead projects from concept to completion, on time and within budget, with a strong focus on quality, using tools like Microsoft Project.
$89,300.00-$193,400.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
