Meet The Speakers

Donna Peters
Donna Peters
Vice President of Servicing Portals, Knowledge and Learning (PKL)

Donna Peters is the Vice President of Servicing Portals, Knowledge and Learning (PKL). In her role, she drives the technology vision, strategy, and project delivery, which supports the business objectives. Donna has held various servicing roles with a focus on modernization of platforms to deliver the world’s best customer experience. Prior to her current role, she led a team responsible for the development of Customer Value Portal – Value Generation and Retention. Prior to that, she was the Engineering Director for disputes where she led the development and deployment of GDM across multiple markets.

Donna is very passionate about closing the gender gap for women in technology and building inclusive teams. She is a council member for DE & I and also leads the Mentorship/Sponsorship arm of Ben-tech. Donna holds a Master of Information Technology and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. Donna lives with her husband Lanardo, and daughter Madison in Pembroke Pines.

Penelope Madry
Penelope Madry
VP, Product Development for Acquisition Product and Services Strategy

Penelope Madry is Vice President, Product Development for the Acquisition Product and Services Strategy team. Her team is responsible for acquisition platform strategy and ensuring that the product teams supporting the business and markets have the tools and capabilities they need to deliver key business initiatives quickly, efficiently, and with high quality. Penelope started her career at American Express in 2018 as Director of GO2 and led the GO2 Australia migration and US Middle Market launch. Her 20 years as a technology professional spans the financial and nonprofit industries and includes organizations like Advent Software, Thomson Reuters, and TNTP.

Penelope has a BA from Scripps College, a Masters from NYU Wagner, and enjoys exercising, reading, and cooking with her husband and son in Port Washington, New York.

Brigida Muñoz
Brigida Muñoz
VP, Connectivity Lead, Enterprise Inclusion Diversity & Business Engagement

Brigida Muñoz serves as Vice President, Connectivity Lead in the Office of Enterprise Inclusion, Diversity & Business Engagement at American Express (AXP). In this role, Brigida is responsible for driving collaboration across AXP, as we drive our commitments to Diversity, Inclusion, Equity forward. She ensures that all program initiatives and enhancements align to the overall program and Company strategy while also creating accountability structures to measure success against key targets.

Prior to this role, Brigida Muñoz worked as VP of the Marketing and Product Team for American Express National Bank. She also held leadership roles in Co-brand Product Management for OPEN, Prepaid Portfolio Management and Consumer Services, where she signed partnership agreements for the Membership Rewards Program, managed lending products and led internal acquisition.

She is a dedicated leader who has championed initiatives with HOLA (the Hispanic employee resource group at AXP) and the Global Risk Compliance and American Express National Bank Inclusion & Diversity Council that elevate diverse talent and foster inclusive leadership practices.

Brígida Muñoz is a native of Los Angeles, California. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two children. When she’s not working she can be found running/biking around the city, making and viewing art, cooking and eating (in that order) and spending time with her family.

Therese L. Banks

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Therese serves as the VP/GM of the Regional B2B team supporting a national Account Development Team that manages $20B in charge volume.
Therese joined American Express in 2008 as Manager of Account Development. Since that time, she has held positions with progressive responsibility and established her brand by driving transformation and being a change agent for business strategy and talent development. She is known for her innovative thought leadership, forward-thinking skills and ability to collaborate with diverse groups to create impactful business solutions that drive the business forward.
Therese is also passionate about leadership and professional development. Most recently, she created Ready To Lead, a program designed to generate a pipeline of future leaders through coaching and mentoring of early tenure Managers, with a focus on sharpening business acumen and leadership skills.

Phyllis McCormick
Phyllis McCormick
Vice President of Finance

Phyllis holds an Accounting degree and has over 25 years of Finance experience. She has been a member of the AMEX Finance organization since joining in 1997 with extensive experience in Global Consumer and Small Business Decision Support, Planning, Reporting and Results Analysis teams. She is currently in the Risk Finance organization leading a highly analytical team dedicated to Decision Support for the Global Credit and Fraud Risk Management Organization.
