2020 was a year of unprecedented change.
It took us from the life we knew to a life of isolation and uncertainty. Many of us had to learn how to live in an environment that required us to do everything from the safety and seclusion of our homes – including work.
Now, once again, everything is changing. We are starting to see some semblance of normalcy, and many of us are returning to the office. But while returning to “normal” should seem comforting, it has been an understandably difficult transition in the workplace.
With all of the confusion, Minenhle P Mlotshwa (Assistant Product Manager) and Ahmed Al Ghusain (Senior Business Intelligence Analyst) from the team at Cummins, want all professionals struggling to know that it’s okay to not be okay. Navigating these changes is not easy. They present unique challenges every day, and they can have a negative effect on your mental health if you’re not careful. That’s why it’s so important to talk about mental well-being in the workplace. By removing the taboo and being open and honest with your team and managers, you can help make room for empathy, self-care, and a better understanding of mental health in the professional realm.
