Annabel Romero Hernandez, PhD
Annabel Romero Hernandez, PhD
Specialist Leader, SFL, a Deloitte Business

Dr. Annabel Romero Hernandez is the director of drug discovery and molecular modeling at SFL Scientific, leading the design and implementation of custom AI solutions for healthcare and life sciences clients. From target identification to FDA filing of novel drug patents, Annabel understands the current need to streamline and accelerate the process of finding candidate molecules in this complex domain and serves as an expert in the field with over ten years of focused research. At SFL, Annabel connects the needs of industry clients with novel AI and machine learning methodologies to radically transform the current state of their internal R&D processes.

Prior to joining SFL Scientific, Dr. Romero Hernandez worked in the pharmaceutical industry and was a fundamental part of developing a monoclonal antibody cocktail against SARS-CoV-2, the virus for the COVID-19 disease. She has solved several structures of proteins relevant for disease treatment within small molecules and monoclonal antibodies. With a background in structural biology, biochemistry, genetics, and neuroscience, Dr. Romero Hernandez is passionate about life's essential motto, "structure reveals function," and brings together protein structure and the various 'omics' data through AI in order to augment the current understanding of disease characterization.

Cristel M. Gómez is a Manager in Deloitte's Technology Strategy practice focused on consumer clients. She advises C-Suite executives at Fortune 500 companies on digital transformation efforts via growth strategies, technology, and equity. Cristel is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champion and serves as a mentor and Junior Board Member for First Tech Fund - an NYC non-profit helping to close the digital divide for historically marginalized communities.

Srijata is a Data Science Manager at SFL Scientific, a Deloitte business, with a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. With a strong foundation in NLP, industrial analytics, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, and deep learning problems, Srijata serves as the technical lead for SFL Scientific's Energy, Resources & Industrials division.

Srijata is a skilled analyst and strategic thinker, proficient in identifying and implementing AI solutions for innovative use cases for industrial and commercial products. She excels in both technical and communication skills, able to present her findings to diverse audiences. With a strong background in industrial products and construction, Srijata expertly combines data engineering and industry knowledge to drive innovation and improve outcomes.

Natascha is an Engineering Manager at SFL Scientific, a Deloitte business. She received her PhD from Auburn University, analyzing large genetic datasets using Bioinformatics, and previously worked at IBM as a Statistical Programmer and DevOps Engineer. She currently serves as the head of Engineering at SFL and is responsible for ensuring high-quality engineering products for a large suite of high-profile clients.

Natascha’s diverse technical background enables her to step into various roles, including Data and DevOps engineering and Full-stack development. She has a thirst for knowledge, which allows her to stay up to date on cutting-edge technologies, and she encourages and enables her team to continually learn and grow within the exciting space of engineering.

Gaby is a Sr. Manager in Deloitte's AI and Data Ops practice. She specializes in helping large Heath Care clients stand up enterprise-wide digital capabilities and deliver AI and Automation solutions to address key business challenges. Gaby also serves as leader of the Hispanic and LatinX (HLx) Community in Atlanta, envisioned to advance our strategy around acquisition, retention, and advancement of HLx talent.
