Meet The Speakers

Laurette O'Malley
Laurette O'Malley
Head of Integrated Relationship Management

Laurette O’Malley is the Head of Integrated Relationship Management for U.S. institutional and Canadian institutional and intermediary clients in the Americas division of T. Rowe Price.Prior to that, she was head of Investment & Product Content, where she led investment and RFP editorial, product communications and investment education. Her previous experience extends across many aspects of the asset management industry including roles in client services, product management and marketing.

Laurette is a member of the firm’s DEI Steering Committee as the DEI business representative for the Global Distribution division. She is also a rotational manager for the firm’s INPAC associate program, a program focused on developing diverse, early talent. Laurette has also served as a member of the firm’s Marketing Leadership Team, Women in Sales Steering Committee, Diversity & Inclusion Operating Council, and co-chair for communication on the Women’s Roundtable.

Laurette received her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fordham University and her Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from New York University Stern School of Business.

Sophie Yazdi

Senior Sales Consultant

Sophie joined T. Rowe Price November 1, 2021. She brings to the table experience in Sales and Marketing, in both the US and European markets. Sophie began her career in sales at the multinational pharmaceutical company, Sandoz. She held multiple sales roles prior to joining Oxford Molecular, one of the first companies in the field of rational drug design and bioinformatics, accelerating their sales growth in the US to support their successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange. Ultimately, she was VP of Sales and Marketing at DoubleTwist, a genomic data and bioinformatics company located in the San Francisco Bay Area before deciding to leave the workforce to raise her family . During this period, Sophie held multiple roles in the non-profit sector, focusing on financial management and fundraising, and served as a Treasurer and Board member. She received a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a B.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry from University College London.

Head of Individual Investors Client Engagement

Christine Akins is the Head of Individual Investors Client Engagement. She is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. Christine has been with T. Rowe Price since 1996 and has held various management roles across the firm spanning distribution, operations, project management, technology, and marketing.

Christine earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida. She is a Series 7, 24, 6, 53, and 63 representative.

Jennifer Suess
Jennifer Suess
Manager, AVP Advice Delivery

Jennifer Suess began her career at T. Rowe Price in January of 2007. During her tenure, Jennifer worked in RPS Servicing, High Net worth Client services, Client operations, Staffing and data analytics and Advice Delivery. Throughout her career she has led several large-scale projects resulting in improved business efficiency and increased client satisfaction.

Jennifer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and holds Series 7, 66, and 24 FINRA licenses.

Christine Smith
Christine Smith
VP, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Business Partner - Global Distribution

Christine Smith is a Vice President, Diversity Equity & Inclusion Business Partner at T. Rowe Price, supporting the Global Distribution Business. In her role, Christine is responsible for developing and implementing the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy for the division, which includes all of the distribution channels and sales teams. Serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership, Christine works to drive results across the sales organization through ensuring diverse voices are heard, represented, and embedded into the business, enabling T. Rowe Price to better serve the diverse clients they serve. Prior to joining T. Rowe Price, Christine served Executive Director, Regional Diversity Officer at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, and led the establishment and growth of the DEI function at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. Across her roles, she has focused on the importance of generational wealth by both supporting the career journeys of current and prospective financial professionals from underrepresented backgrounds and connecting and supporting marginalized communities through the foundation of financial education.

Christine received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the Graduate Center, CUNY. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in psychology and marketing from Villanova University and a M.S. and M.Phil. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Baruch College, CUNY. She continues to be active in the research community, presenting at conferences and authoring academic publications on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
